I think it's more like MSU's football font, to be honest.. the angled jut-out looks more like theirs to me:

Not really seeing any similarities....compare the 5s.....left side, above the gap, completely different.

Right side of the 5 below the gap, the Gophers' is sawed off, while the Vikes is rounded.

Need to get a better look at them, but only similarity may be the "less is more" approach the Gophers use and the Vikes may use.

I was focused on the hooked ends of the numbers. Side by side it's clear they are different.
 


It's a little early in the offseason to be discussing fonts!
 


Even with the goofy serifs the jerseys are a ton better than the arena league ones they've been rocking.
 

Yeah.. The number fonts are NOTHING like each other. The only similarities here is the Nike swoosh.

And that both the Gophers and Vikings went back to a more classic look than the previous version of their unis.
 








I'm surprised people don't see any similarity. In particular the asymmetry of one corner of the number being square and the other corner rounded is a characteristic prevalent in both. Neither team had this on their numbers for the last 40 years or so.

well, the vikings have barely been around for 40-50 years. meanwhile our gopher footballers have been on the scene since 1882. ;)

there's a little bit of similarity, particularly in the twos IMO, but not a whole lot of similarity to be honest. Numbers not withstanding, the home jerseys look a lot like OK State's.
 



A 3 in any font is a 3. A 4 in any font is a 4. An 8 in any font is an 8. A rose by any font smells like a rose. What a discussion.

Must be getting close to Prom Night. A bunch of fretting about the font on the Queens uni's????
 



The big question is whether the purple in the jerseys will match the purple in the turf they're installing in the new stadium.

Dammit don't make me sad so early in the day. First the Vikes steal our stadium, then they steal our number font, and now your saying they'll steal our jersey/turf color arguments. This Zygi guy can be a real SOB!

BTW, If there is a single stitch of purple on the field for the Gopher games I will lose it.

A. The reason people think it's so "funny" is that you're calling men by a feminine term. Textbook definition of misogyny. So hilarious.

B. The word "Viking" has nothing at all to do with the word "king", so making fun of them by calling them "queens" is not only not funny, it's also not clever. The next time I see someone walking down the street, is it funny if I say, "Look, that guy's 'walqueen' down the street. DURR HURR HURR!!!"

C. How am I "thin-skinned"? No one's making fun of me. They're making fun of women. I'm not a woman.

D. Nice name-calling, d1ckhead.
 

Never have I wished I could delete a thread I started more. Can we let this one die a quick death...
