It is the southern side of the stadium so, like South Dakota, its bound to be warmer than North Dakota.

Surprising, but I guess that makes sense. The afternoon sun is on the visitor's side. Sept and Oct when the Gophers play, you don't really need the extra warmth (and it's arguably an annoyance having to look into the sun), but could matter in November and December games (and maybe january), when the Vikings will still be playing.

No it isn't, the visitors side is on the NORTHERN side of the stadium. And hence, they receive more sun in the Fall/Winter months, as the earth starts to tilt away from the sun in the northern hemisphere.

Geography and earth science lecture aside, I'm guessing they picked it for late season sun/warmth purposes and maybe also as a secondary reason, because all the luxo boxes face that north sideline.

So, does this end the 'visitors side v. home side lines' debate?

And as is so typical of this board...humor, irony and sarcasm are lost and what is found is blunt idiocy.

Thank you. This is really funny and made me laugh out loud for real.

I am really disappointed in my GH brethren. They chose the Vis side because the camera will be in their face.............exposure.

How many locker rooms are in TCF - more than 2? I ask, because if the Vikings are using the Gopher locker room but using the North sideline won't the teams have to cross since the visitors come out of that small tunnel on the North side? Just seems odd that the visitors would have to walk through the Vikings sideline.

Let's see now...we have an overanalysis of which sidelines are used. Damn I love the boring off season. :cool02:

You used to just not be around in the off-season. What happened, can't remember where you put your Jeep?

Visitors that are paying for a bevy of upgrades that will benefit the U for a long time. Hardly "d-bags".

Yeah, it really is amazing how many people are still bent out of shape by the Vikings playing at TCF. I get the animosity in general towards the Vikings but I really have a hard time seeing how getting a bunch of upgrades, national television exposure, and a revenue stream for the use of a facility that would have been empty on Sundays anyway is a bad thing for the U.

Thanks. Always learning. I knew the Earth had a little wobble, but I did not know it seasonally changed its "tilt." Does the elliptical orbit change as well?

Guess I studied to be the wrong kind of scientist.

I believe that the contract calls for the Vikings to build out a locker room in some currently unfinished space.

This. Finally.

Pretty sure the Vikings aren't using Gopher locker room, but the visitors'. "Visiting" teams will be using the new space.
