Go Gophers!!
Go Gophers!!
Given recent history, I would guess Saban will carefully consider any long FG attempts in the future - at least in a critical juncture of the game.
With what was at stake, the rivalry, etc., will not the Tide's epic fail vs Auburn go down as perhaps one of, if not the, greatest play(s) in college football history? The six of us 40- and 50-something guys watching that game together that November day, none of whom with any allegiances to or affinity for either school, spontaneously, unscripted, and en masse, got up out of their seats and were hollering - in equal parts delight and disbelief - at what was transpiring.
I'll never forget it - nor will Nick, methinks.

While impressive, don't we hear of kickers hitting 65+ all the time in practice? Add pads, 11 250+ lb men, 60,000 screaming people, game time pressure, and the weird winds that happen in a stadium versus an open air practice field and all the sudden these kickers are missing 30 yard chip shots in game.
