Can they put a couple grand into this thing and make it more substantial?
 


Trophies in order of importance to me:
1. The Pig
2. The Jug
3. The Axe
4. The Bell
 

I wish I could understand the significance of a rivalry. You're playing an opponent every game. That's your rivalry. The trophies are fun. That's what they're for. Making them some kind of transcendental talisman is silly. Enjoy the win and the chance to display the trophy.
 

Who wouldn't love to have the pig in the trophy case every year? Have you seen it in person? Floyd is a work of art, and we cannot deny its deep roots in history and the psyche.
 


Officially, the Gophers lead the series for the Victory Bell 5-3, with the last 4 games against Penn St. being vacated (0-0 ties I guess). I remember being at the first game against PSU in the Metrodome back in 1994. That game was ugly from the start. Since then the Gophers have been surprisingly competitive against them.
 

When the Gophers were rushing the field at the end of the game, I couldn't figure out what was going on at first. I completely forgot there was a trophy involved in this game.

Exactly what I was thinking when I saw it break. Hey, it represents victory, no matter what the quality, and it keeps our case from being empty, so I embrace it :)
 





I like all Trophies...Bell and AXE will look great for family pictures at the State Fair...great Xmas cards
