USC Trip Plans/Advice

We live in Las Vegas and rarely get chances to attend Gopher stuff. We have also already made plans to attend the U's home opener of the 2013 season as UNLV travels to Mpls. I am already Xing of on the calendar for that one!
Will you be throwing the party September 1, 2012 in Vegas next year when we open up the season at UNLV? That is another road trip I can't wait to attend.

We're staying in Rendo Beach. A little out of the way, but reasonable price and near the ocean. This is the first real destination non-conference road game the gophers have had since say Colorado in '91 although an argument could be made for Colorado St.

Are you talking quality of destination, quality of opponent, or both?

If strictly the former, I would consider these all quality "destination" games since '91:

Florida Atlantic 2007
Cal 2006
Houston 1998
Hawaii 1997
San Diego St. 1993

Definitely not Middle Tennessee State, 2010. Way too hot.

Yeah, I'm also looking forward to Gophs coming here to Las Vegas next year. I am really hoping for a good turnout of Maroon and Gold. I am a dealer at one of the major casinos here and football Saturdays are always fun. The biggest game in terms of visitors coming here, spending money and having a good time is always (I am sad to say) Wisky. I actually think there is more red in the stands due to UW than UNLV. So I hope there is a great turnout from MN. The Silver Bowl is kind of a sucky venue, but the fun Las Vegas atmosphere more than makes up for it. I look forward to seeing the Golden Horde in 2012.
