that is a bizarre line in my opinion but upset in terms of ranking and teams who have a realistic shot at the playoff.

We need to ditch rankings entirely until week 8, but that will never happen cuz it would hurt tv ratings. Let the computers like Sagarin rate teams since they're just for fun anyways, but withhold the AP, Coaches, and selection committee polls until week 8. Better yet, just get rid of the AP and coaches entirely.
