University of Iowa puts "The Hawkeye Way" billboard up in DT Mpls

Saw the same billboard up on 94 between the two cities and on 35W north around Arden Hills.
 

Someone should photoshop that bad boy with some sort of metrodome bathroom sex/Rhabdo/AIRBHG behind their mascot.
 

it is a wonderful BT fall back for the kids who have an ACT of 25.
 

I saw that billboard earlier this week, someone should graffiti the *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# out of that thing.
 




Yeah, the one north of downtown along 35W has been there for at least the last week or so. Makes me wretch every time I drive by it.
 

Huh, I'm surprised by this. I wonder how many Minnesotans would attend Iowa since there is no reciprocity agreement in place between the two states (and because it's a stinky hole)?

I was gonna sponsor a "MINNESOTA GOPHERS" billboard in Iowa City, and the Iowa City Government wanted me to, because it would have elevated land evaluations there by 62.5%.
 

I'm not one to complain, but after reading this thread, there are now ads on the right side of the page as I type this (on Gopherhole) for "the hawkeye way". I formally request any ads for the University of iowa to be banished from Gopherhole.
 



Any of them feature their Running Backs being carted-off the field?

Make a donation to gopherhole and you won't seen any ads.
 

Why? Wouldn't it be obvious? This is a Gopher related website and one or our biggest rivals is iowa. Done.

Yes I realize about the donations - if you're logged in - however, I'd assume other lurkers are seeing the same ads. Is that a good thing or not? I say not.

It's just my opinion that the university of iowa ads shouldn't be on this website, although it's probably tough to control - it's kind of funny actually. Sorry to hijack.

There is another Iowa Hawkeye billboard on Hwy 13 S in Savage near Buffalo Tap.

"Come to the U of M" advertisements are all over Iowa City - Target stores, Best Buy stores, Cheerios boxes at the supermarket, Post-it notes in every professor's office...
 


I personally love to see Iowa advertising on Gopherhole. It means that Iowa's advertising money is being wasted. And that makes me smile.

Correct. Hawkeye money spent on ads on Gopherhole is wasted money. A Gopher fan who comes here and sees an ad for Iowa isn't going to jump ship. That would be like Dracula switching to holy water because of an ad.

Why do you think they do it? Serious question, I can do without the juvenile harebrained comments....Im truely asking why they would spend money on a athletic message board. It seems geared towards students, not a thletes.
