I don't know the reason, but it sounds like they are only able to have 3 different colored helmets. I guess we will see if this ends up being true.

Any idea why they can only have 3?
 

Probably unpopular but I’d rather see them retire the metallic gold helmets.

The metallic look was being dropped by a lot of schools back when they first appeared on Gopher uniforms, Johnny come lately style. That trend has only continued since then. It’s not that I flat out don’t like them, it’s just that this look is a little “tired”.

For whatever reason, the football team seems to be at war with the color yellow-gold and is in love with white. First the jersey numbers and shoes went white, then face masks and logos, and now helmets. Gold has been the big victim with this white love affair.

Best away uni's by far. Stick with what works imo.
 

Id like to see the metallic maroon helmets, white jersey with maroon lettering, and the maroon pants.

Block “M” on the helmet please

That is our best road look IMO.

Just a guess but probably a cost thing. Easy to change the decals on the helmets, much tougher to change the color.

They only need two helmet colors: yellow/gold and maroon. I prefer yellow/gold like the hockey teams. After all, we are the "Golden Gophers." Minnesota needs to pay attention to Branding. People should see the gophers on TV and immediately recognize that it is Minnesota.
 


Maroon helmets white jersey and maroon pants. It's just my feel, but if they go with gold metallic, that would be alright with me.

Matte maroon helmets, white jerseys, maroon pants. Don't car what color cleats.

Win the Big 10 West and they’ll be able to get more styles without any issues.

They can do that by seeing where it says “Minnesota” on the scoreboard. One of the absolute most iconic brands ever has their preferred team change their look every game. I’ll take their branding plans over walleye’s
