How do you screw that up? Senior day is pretty easy to pull off, and this is a horrible message to their seniors and pretty much everyone about their school.

Anyone involved in this decision who approved of it at UMass should not be in a decision making position.

Strange. I don't know how many people it is, but if they think that it is too many for a pregame ceremony, have it afterwards.

Odd decision and can't imagine it is going over well with the players or their families. They do have 31 seniors, redshirt seniors or Grad students on their roster, that is a lot but with a little planning shouldn't be that hard to make sure you can still honor each player individually and give them that special moment with their family.

I mean it doesn't take that long to call the names and have the player run out.

And just move it along faster. Have them all line up and announce them one at a time with their family close by to join them after they are called. It isn't complicated.
I'm imaging UMass's AD:

How is the PA announcer supposed to memorize like 30 names!?!?!!?

Well sir we could just print out a list ...

On valuable paper!?!?! This is impossible! 🤷‍♀️

They put out a statement on it this morning. Apparently they have 54 seniors/graduates/finishing eligibility on the team so they decided to do a pregame ceremony instead I guess?

It sounds like they're going to meet with the team ... then maybe backpedal.
