Last 15 seconds

Ben says that we've shot free throws pretty good?? They have been a bit of a strength for us??? We get a lot of pts there?!?!!

We entered tonight's debacle 348/350 in free throw %

I will be the first to tell you that over the course of a season free throw % is actually not a very important stat, its more free throw rate thats the key. Well...

We entered 219th in free throw rate

This guy is beyond clueless. And its doing no one any good. I mean that is a flat out insane comment to make after a game like this, with season stats like those.

I've seen better free throws in a free throw contest between Helen Keller, Stevie Wonder and Shaq blindfolded

I remember the conditioning drill we ran in hs, everyone would get on the line. Then each player would shoot a 1 & 1. If you miss the front end, it automatically counts as two down and backs.

When the stat says 12/27, that really doesn’t show how bad it was as those are lots of front end’s of 1 & 1’s. (When the Gophers are in the single bonus). I wish they would alter how they keep FT stats to show that if you miss the front end’s of a 1 & 1 it shows you go 0-2…as you actually cost your team 2 potential points.

Looked at the box score from last night, 12/27? Are they that bad every game? Brutal.
Every game....no....but we have been a bad free throw shooting team for Ben's entire tenure and it 100% cost us the game last night. Killer when the supposedly good free throw shooters like Mike Mitchell and Garcia are missing key free throws down the stretch.

I'm going to say this with all sincerity while not trying to sound like a total jacka$$ but I'm sure that's how it's going to sound 😄

Do you think CBJ knows he's completely in over his head and has no idea how to coach at this level? Again, I know what else is he going to say, but his pressers/quotes always come across like he thinks he's doing great work and if it wasn't for bad luck we'd be winning every game. But we are now 3+ years in, virtually every single player we get in manages to get worse, has no awareness, and we can't even do the simple things right. I get it he's not going to come out and say, ahh yep I'm just not good at this and I'm quitting, but I'm starting to think he thinks he's doing everything really well.

It's been a rough week, I used to ask myself why I live in a place where it snows and gets -40, now I more ask what rational human cheers for this sad sack of teams in this state! ☹️

Here's the ultimate "Johnson cant coach" moment.

They manage to get up 7, with the ball, but there's almost 6 minutes left in regulation.

And he has them go into a stall on offense.

More-fucking-ronic.

In Ben’s defense (he doesn’t deserve it), the stall offense was also a staple of the Pitino and Tubby regimes as well.

The biggest head scratcher was Betts playing all those crucial minutes when he hasn’t even been in the rotation all year. We all thought it was because Femi was hurt, then with the game practically over in 2OT, Femi pops up off the bench looking as spry as ever 🤣.

Just a circus act at this point.

The thing with Femi was weird.....If he was good to go he should have gone in the game the moment Betts committed the bonehead foul if not way sooner. Haven't watched any of the post game pressers so don't know if Johnson addressed it.

I think the last 10 seconds of the 1st half showed how well coached this team is.

By whatever standard or low budget on ticket and season ticket sales for Mens basketball the U of M set I bet we are way below projections and revenue is a deficit. Worst yet whatever interest there was in Mens basketball has to be waning. I bet if you look at all metrics, scheduling, recruiting, ticket sales, television ratings the Mens basketball program I'd recon is lower than after 1986 and or 1998 and the scandal years. One thing is likely without TV Revenue Mens basketball is not only in a deficit, revenue is declining rapidly by the week. Apathy is clearly killing interest. We need change just to save any interest left.

Listening to Ben drone on with excuses on his radio show, when will he get it that it is time to move on and let someone else coach and teach in this program? Pride before the fall.

Didn't learn from the Mizzou game last year, gotta still play the game like the score is tied.

What essentially amounts to prevent defense in football. Prevents you from winning! With a shot clock there are just too many possessions to take the air out of the ball. Just run your offense and take the same shots you would have instead of trying to be cute.
