I'm not sure I'd call Olivia Miles tiny. She's 5-10 and can take contact. Comparing Harmon to Miles at this point is a real stretch.Okay, I only watched the highlight video I linked. Did you watch that? She's fun to watch! Her passing vision in the highlights is very good...I did not see the penetration dropoff passes the last couple years for the Gophers that Harmon executes. She has some very nice entry passes to post in the highlights...the low, crisp, quick, perfectly placed bounce passes...not the soft 7 foot high air passes to the post that allow and alert the defense to double team. I like Battle but disagree she's a better passer (just from a Harmon highlight video) but watching Battle for years. This girl can defend...she got in a stance and picked somebody in the backcourt in the highlights. The ability is there.
How she plays is coaching but she has ability. Totally disagree she can't shoot or pass. Why you saying she's a bad defender? She has the ability to dog opposing point guards...her defense is on Coach P to motivate and encourage her to do what she's asked to do consistently. The quickness and attitude is there in one highlight...how often it happens is coaching. Her defense can be an upgrade asset as well.
Who are you saying could put together a dramatically better highlight tape among the 3 starters? None are close as passers. Harmon is a better passer than Battle. Harmon is going to be playing with better teammates. She's going to have better coaching. Statistically she shoots a higher % from 3 than Grace, Tori or Braun. Or Battle as you agreed.
Olivia Miles was the 2nd overall pick in the draft. She is tiny, but she can obviously play. This girl is much stronger and she can play too. Truthseeker...Harmon has talent...give it a chance...see where it's at when the Big Ten rolls around after she gets settled in.
I like Battle...thought she was great as Gopher...hope she sticks with the Lynx. I don't know if she will be....but this girl can be better and more exciting to watch.
The argument is Harmon is too small to play. My argument is some people would look at Miles and reach the same conclusion...especially at the WNBA level. A. Is Miles really 5'10? B. If she is not tiny can we call her skinny?I'm not sure I'd call Olivia Miles tiny. She's 5-10 and can take contact. Comparing Harmon to Miles at this point is a real stretch.
No need to watch this video. I've already been told she's a terrible player, the U is announcing tomorrow that the Women's Hoops team is being eliminated and golden retrievers are being classified as domestic terrorists.
I’m a fan of the Harmon commitment. Think she can help, but shooting is a question mark. Grace, Tori and Mara all shot the ball much better against Big Ten competition than Harmon did against Big 12 competition.. . . Totally disagree she can't shoot . . .
. . . Statistically she shoots a higher % from 3 than Grace, Tori or Braun. . . .
She was also asked to do a TON for a terrible UCF team. I’m expect her numbers to vastly improve with the help around her.I’m a fan of the Harmon commitment. In-Conference Shooting Percentages (2025-26):
Grace: 3P% 41.4%; 2P% 52.4%.
Tori: 3P% 39.1%; 2P% 47.2%.
Mara: 3P% 34.3%; 2P% 43.3%.
Harmon: 3P% 27.0%; 2P% 35.7%.
Harmon only played 9 conference games this year before injury, so not the biggest sample size. But she will need to shoot more efficiently for the Gophers.
I never meant to imply that Harmon is too small. There have been many great players her size. I'm just saying that comparing her to the No. 2 pick in the draft is a little premature. The argument is Harmon is too small to play. Harmon is definitely stronger than Miles from an appearance standpoint.
That's all I'm saying in answer to she's too small to play effectively for the Gophers. I don't agree. You evidently think so too...so fine we disagree.
I have no idea but I know this....I like her shooting stroke ... if she shot 27% i"d be surprised....here is what I see on ESPN:I’m a fan of the Harmon commitment. This isn't a highlight video, it's a background video. And if you don't want to learn more about a new player its your loss.No need to watch this video. Glad you mentioned her. I'm curious about what kind of jump she may be capable of making next year. In her limited time this past season, I saw an athletic, lanky guard who seemed to finally be 100% after her knee injury early in her career.Actually of the guards returning Klick might have the best handle
Wasn't doing that...it's just the first smaller point guard I thought of that somebody could get a visual of size wise and that size doesn't have to be a deal breaker. Not comparing their games.I never meant to imply that Harmon is too small. There have been many great players her size. I'm just saying that comparing her to the No. 2 pick in the draft is a little premature.
If memory serves...when teams could have walk-ons...she was one. She is obviously by rule on scholarship now. I agree she is intriguing...if she gets in...I generally want to see her play more.Glad you mentioned her. I'm curious about what kind of jump she may be capable of making next year. I'm guessing that her instructions coming into games for short minutes last season were " play defense, don't turn the ball over and get a couple of rebounds", which I thought she did a good job of for the most part.
I seem to recall that we were pretty happy to get her out of high school. I don't remember much about her offensive potential expectations translating to Big Ten play. Obviously we had no chance to see it since she got injured so early.
I'm honestly pretty interested to see if and what kind of jump KK and Christian might make for the Gophers this season. Anybody else wondering if they might be under the radar, but nice surprises this season?
Your sarcasm detector is broken. I think both of our commitments today are great additions to the current roster. This isn't a highlight video, it's a background video. And if you don't want to learn more about a new player its your loss.
I realize you were being sarcastic. I just didn't like you pulling this video into a discussion.I was trying to ignoreYour sarcasm detector is broken. I think both of our commitments today are great additions to the current roster.
Appreciate that ESPN shows stats for 20 games, which is 11 nonconference games against generally weak competition and 9 games against Big 12 competition. I find conference stats to be much more meaningful. In conference play against Big 12 teams, including 3 ranked teams, she shot 10 for 37 from 3, which is 27%. You can confirm what I say via herhoopstats, which reports stats various ways, including conference per game and conference totals:I have no idea but I know this....I like her shooting stroke ... if she shot 27% i"d be surprised....here is what I see on ESPN:

It wouldn't seem she is in their plans with Harmon and Tori O ahead of her but opportunities seem to always present themselves. Like to see her do well.
You are correct...I think I swapped her story with Senden.Klick has been a scholarship player since the beginning
In the video on the following page detailing her prep exploits, she is referred to as Ayou mean they are taking a step back in getting the 33rd ranked player in the 2024 class?
Yes. Podomonick, Banham, Sissoko, Braun all were higher. Battle, I think, was 39.In the video on the following page detailing her prep exploits, she is referred to as A️

Have we ever had someone ranked higher than that?

Finishing at the rim is also a problem for her.I really like the addition of Harmon as well. When I coached I always looked for the opposing teams weakest spot. At 5'6"" she would be at a distinct disadvantage defensively because the Big Ten has a plethora of guards around the 6'0" area. If it was me, I would post her up as much as I could if I was the opposing coach. But I also recognize the that she could bring plenty of full court pressure against my 6'0" guard. If Talia Goodman is correct and the staff could land Tilda Trygger 6'6" or Merkle 6'6" that could alleviate that potential disadvantage. I too am from the era of Calvin Murphy and Nate Archibald and she does demonstrate some of those same characteristics they had purely from a female perspective. So I am intrigued to say the least.
The woman had a great season and that has drawn more interest in the team which is good. Just like in the mens forums it also brings more “ experts “ with different opinions which in general expands the discussion. Finding the balance between negativity and making constructive comments can be a challenge. I still think this forum is one of the best on GH at striking that balance. Go Gophers !Wtf happened to this thread?? Holy shit
