I like the lineup when we get Welch in with Andre and Trevor down low. It got me thinking how effective a similar lineup would be with:

Tyus at 1
A Senior Andre at 2. I think he actually looks better and more comfortable playing off the ball.
RV where Austin plays. Killer on the wing.
Travis pounding the boards like Mbakwe does.

It would be absolute magic.

Take those 4 and throw in a Senior EE or MO, and you'd be hard pressed to find a better starting 5.

Exciting lineup to think about and certainly would be tough to beat. We can only hope that they think about that as much as Gopher fans do.

Watched the big 3 last night at High Performance Academy. Vaughn looked to have most upside strong skilled and athletic. Tyus basically would drive and kick out for 3 pointers, De defenders would take their eye off Apple Valley shooters when tyus started go to the hole and Tyus delivered the rock . Travis was completely shut down picked up 3 offensive fouls and was never a factor.

Reid Travis is not an Mbakwe style PF as I understand it? I thought he was more of a 6'7" SF?

Correct. Reid is not nearly the powerful athlete that Trevor was at the same stage, but he's probably more skilled. I would not call Reid a SF at this point though. I would say he's a combo forward, leaning more towards PF right now. He is defnitely a well-built young man. He looks the part, but as the above post noted, he did absolutely nothing in yesterday's scrimmage.

Regarding the other two 2014s, they are impressive, but in very different ways. Vaughn looked bigger than when I last saw him in the summer, and he definitely a good athlete. He is also very skilled with the ball, but he seems like more of an individual on the court. By that I mean he did not do much to make his teammates better. That said, he is a very talented individual scorer. Tyus is much less impressive physically, though he does seem to have become more athletic as he has matured, but he makes everyone around him better. He gets the ball to his teammates in positions where they can score, which is what a pure PG should do. He is a lot of fun to watch, and I have to imagine fun to play with because he does so much that benefits his teammates.

Amir Coffey did start for Hopkins and is worthy of a Gopher offer, 9th grader Brock Bertram from AV is close to 6'10" and very strong for his size and age also should get a gopher offer, Jarvis Johnson 2015 De. also should get a gopher offer. Travis may still be adjusting from football but is more of a top 100 kid than top 40. Vaughn had some nice passes, his team plays a lot of one and one stuff while he does not make his team better like a top point guard he was still quite unselfish.

Agreed on Jarvis and Amir. Jarvis needs an offer right now and Amir needs to get one in the near future as well. Not sure if you meant we should offer Bertram now or in the future, but he is no where near ready for an offer right now. He certainly has potential, but he still needs to develop and prove he's worthy of a high-major offer. Not quite there yet.

to the extent that an early offer is helpful in signing a player i am ok with offering Brock now. He is really thick for a 9th grade big , 100% sure he will have a Big Ten Banger Body and he likes to mix it up in the blocks. 95 % sure he will end up with multiple high major offers before he finishes highschool. He looked like he grew a couple inches and put on 25-30 pounds since july. Rashad has linebacker shoulders and an explosive 2nd gear. Marshawn wilson did not dress for Hill Murray do not know why.

Wilson will not play varsity , because of his transfer from Tartan. His family choose not to appeal.

I was also at HPA for the scrimmages. Rashad seems to have added a lot of muscle since last winter. I wish he would punish smaller defenders in the paint. Look for him to trim his list this week per his Twitter account.

Amir Coffey = Real Deal (No Brainer)!

Lookout for Sacar Anim (2015)...

Reid Travis was not his normal self but I suspect its because football only ended two weeks ago.

Tyus looked a lot more explosive than I remember. Just not on his dunk but his speed/quickness with ball in his hands was very impressive. If I were a wing or a big I would love playing with him.

Side Note- I think Hopkins or Osseo will be the best team in the state this year!

Dearing who signed with Wisc also did nothing. Sacar shot 1-6 from line and 0-2 outside the paint. Looked good on defense picked off one of Tyus's passes and deflected 2 of them. Looked strong going to right and finishing, did not go left. First time I have seen a transfer to or from a private school having to sit out a year, another 2012 tartan transfer is playing varsity for Cretin now... Hopkins and A . Valley looked like top 2 to me. Any idea what happened to fitzgibbons from De did not see him on team.

Gophs should have eye on 6'9" 230 Ngor Barnarba Rochester J. M. The kid is VG and getting better fast... nice hands 4/5 very soft touch for a big

Is English your second language? Honest question.

I will use my best skills to interpret this:

Gophs should have eye on 6'9" 230 Ngor Barnarba Rochester J. M. The kid is VG and getting better fast... nice hands and the hard on the 4/5 feathery touch

"The Gophers should have their eye on Ngor Barnarba. He is 6'9" and weighs in at 230 lbs. He attends Rochester John Marshall High School. The kid is very good and getting better fast. He has nice hands and a massive erection with a feathery touch. He prefers to play power forward or center."

I really tried. The bold portion is a mystery to me. I can't get it. I was just impressed with myself for getting the correct high school.

Took me a minute to guess that VG meant very good. Is that commonly abbreviated? If it is, that's news to me.
