What a difference adding Tyler to the OL made, and to the flow of the OL.

Would it have made a difference against NW if they had burned his RS earlier? He enrolled early and came from a good HS football program.

Awesome. We have an agile athletic center. I marveled at the block he and Leidner made for Brooks.

IMHO, he is deserving of an MVP with Brooks and several folks on D.

Great team effort today albeit against Purdue. The game against NE will be the next level of test.

Then, a week off to rest and heal and hopefully we get most of our players back in time for the meat of B1G play.

He played very well. I was impressed.

Between Tyler and Connor Mayes, we outta keep hitting the Texas big boys hard as they have proof they can play early here.

Hats off to Moore. Great game.

Before he stepped on campus I remember people talking about him as a future tone setter on the line. I look forward to him developing into a leader with that group.

I found myself watching him on many plays and replays. Just looks the part in every aspect.

We need a bit of nasty in the front 5 I think Tommy the tank and Epping had a bit of nasty to them and as of now none wanted to step up and be that kind of leader

Maybe Moore can do it we will have to wait and see

Really makes you wonder why they preferred in the previous games to go with "bone-on-bone", bad knees, bad shoulder guys when the kid was there all along. He has this take charge and take-it-real-serious demeanor out there that is refreshing to see. Our coaching staff is very good (no doubt), but I'm convinced they could be even better if they'd just adjust their mindset a little. Also, Kill's comment about Moore at halftime was unfortunate. The kid was so pumped and taking his job so seriously and clearly wanting to direct traffic out there, and the only thing Kill says is he needs to calm down. I wish all our lineman were that "un-calm". Then, we'd be a force to reckon with.

From what I saw, he has "leader" written all over him.

When Tyler arrived here early one of the first things Kill said about Tyler was that he didn't back down from anybody. He said he liked that he was nasty.

This begs the question what will we do when Brian Bobek is healthy, especially if Bobek gets another year?

We need good depth at backups, and maybe the offensive line can rotate people in and out to keep them fresh and healthy.

Yes, it's pretty obvious that Kill is pretty dogmatic when it comes to his system - freshman are assumed to be redshirted unless circumstances force a different outcome. I guess that's a reasonable view when you don't recruit top flight prospects (that view may also have something to do with loyalty to his returning players who have waited their turns), but I'll take a strong and healthy freshman over a gimpy veteran most of the time.

I agree. It will interesting to see how this evolves. Kill has always said he doesn't talented players standing next to him so I hope that includes Tyler.

Saw tweets that made it sound like Bobek and Campion could be done for year. Nothing confirmed by school.

Thanks - I forgot about that. They still haven't ruled on a medical red shirt for Bobek from last year so hopefully this will help.

The fact the Kill played Brooks despite having three other good (and healthy) RBs flies directly in the face of the statement you've made.

I think people are making too much out of Kill's comments. For all we know he just meant he just needs to get rid of the first game jitters. It is possible he was just overly excited, anxious, etc. early on and it was affecting his decision making. The center position is pretty important. It being a frosh seeing his first college action is a big deal.

Kill has said good things about Moore multiple times since then.

I will also say that it can take time for a true freshman to get comfortable. You can't assume a guy like Moore would have been just as good against TCU as he was yesterday.

I am pretty sure he would have been as well. He was recruited pretty heavily by them and knows the staff and would have greatly enjoyed gettin' after their D. I'm most sure it will be the same way this week against the Cornhole Commandos should he get the nod. Reiley and Co. recruited him when they were at Or. St. then were gonna make a pitch when they made the move but he was already committed and I believe enrolled by that time. He made the best choice in my opinion.

That may be true. I was just speaking in general terms. There is generally an adjustment period for many true freshman, that is all.

Absolutely. If it seemed I was disputing your point it was not my intent...just giving a little extra info.
