Two time first team All MAC kicker Matthew Trickett commits!

I feel good about this as hopefully we'll clear up a glaring issue within special teams. Hopefully all the guys in the kicking room that clearly has been remodeled will come together, support each other, all the while do an awesome job this coming fall.

Best Friday news I've seen in a while! Very, very important pickup, welcome aboard!! Some healthy competition but I would imagine Trickett to be the favorite?

A big gaping hole the last year or two, should be filled with more than capable shoes moving forward

Can he also play safety?

Three kicker formations work better. Not only left and right, but also down the middle!
The old wishbone kicking formation, yes. Was popular in the 30s I believe.

very nice, good competition for kicker spot and i feel comfortable that XP are gimmes and might get a kicker that can gasp, kick a 45 yarder

All kidding aside , this is a big pickup, as have been all of our transfers.

Who is better at finding transfers? PJ or Pitino?

A 3 kicker formation could be revolutionary to onside kick formations. Two kickers is the most I have seen out there.

The Temple guy seemed decent too. Or did he not end up with is?
Forgot about him. Don't know? Maybe PJ plans on having a kicking battle royal to decide who stays.

As much as it was being confident with field goals, the kick off aspect of special teams hurt the gophers just as much (if not more).

Looking forward to getting some good objective news on that front.
Not an abundant amount of spots to dress on the road.

Would like to know if the kicker can deliver in both aspects of the position!

Assume Kesich would still be the kickoff specialist unless one of the others can beat him out. He had touchbacks on 10 of 24 kickoffs in 2020 so if he can improve on that a little heading to 2021 we should be in good shape there.
