I don't get the juco thing? Are you assuming we are going to sign a couple jucos?

Love this thread...it's great to start thinking towards next season already! That said, I hope Kill & Co are ready to do some serious "coaching-up."

Looking at those two deeps, here are some negatives:
  • Our receiving core is underwhelming at best
  • I still don't see us getting to the passer much with those DE's
  • Our projected safeties are shaky, to say the least
  • Our OL will be relatively green (save for a couple guys), and its depth is questionable

Positives:
  • A great athlete at QB
  • One stud WR
  • Solid pass-catching TE who can ease the burden on said QB and WR
  • Fast, tough LB core (with some actual depth)
  • Athletic CB's (albeit it still unproven in coverage)
  • Veteran DT's who will (hopefully) clog the middle

Exciting stuff! Anyone have surprise predictions? Here are a few from me:

  • Parrish will be the backup QB over Alipate
  • Kirkwood will overtake the other RB's and lead the team in rushing
  • Hageman will start at DE and lead the team in sacks

Not Two Deep but Two Predictions

Gray will be a star and Stoudermire will also be an offensive star with everybody saying why didn't he play like that before.

If Xzavian Brandon is healthy coming off of surgery and rehab he could be a factor at WR.

Early Christmas present: This whole time I was under the impression that Jacobs was a senior. Not sure how I got that in my head. Bonus.

Is he still in the plans to return? I wasn't sure, but if he is able to get healthy, they were saying some real good things about him and he could prove very valuable on the outside.

From what I understand, he does plan on returning as long as rehab goes well. He hopes to be on the field against USC. Those words are straight from him.

QB: Gray / Alipate / Parrish
HB: Eskridge/ Kirkwood/ Bennett
FB: Edwards/ Cotton
TE: Lair / Eure
WR: McKnight / Brandon

slot: Barker (originally was Bryant Allen, but apparently is transferring..)
OT: Olson / Eggen
OG: Bunders / Mottla
C: Wynn / Epping
OG: Gjere / Ragoo
OT: Michel / Lenkiewicz

DE: Garin / Wilhite
DT: Edwards / Tauaefa
DT: Kirksey / Hageman
DE: Jacobs / KGM
OLB: Rallis / Grant
MLB: Beal / Reeves / Hill
OLB: Tinsley / Singleton
CB: Stoudermire / Henderson
CB: M. Carter / Vareen
NK: Bouie
SS: Cooper / Manuel
FS: Watkins / Lewis

P: Orseske
K: Schwerman
PR: Wright (again, was originally Allen)
KR: Stoudermire / Bennet

the wide receivers are just suspect besides Mcknight, obviously. A scary thing with with a young offensive line. ALL GRAY ALL DAY EVERY PLAY.

I hope Gray starts for you guys because no one bounces a pass five yards short of a WR better then him.

Weber does... That's why he started 4 years.
I love people who rip grays passing ability. He hasn't shown poor passing ability and he was projected as a better passer than Pryor out of Hugh school. The ball comes off his hand really nicely, I'm personally less worried about accuracy and arm than i am about finding the open man.

I don't care about the rest.. But Cotton better be starting at fullback. Seriously, that's a better fullback name than Kill is a head football coach name. And Kill is a pretty stellar head football coach name.

I want a maroon shirt with gold lettering saying: "Cotton just planted your ass!"

Stoudermire catches the ball a lot better at CB than he did at WR. He might be a great slot back, I'd take him over Allen on running ability, but I don't think he can play WR consistently.
We need him at cb anyway.
I like Lewis, but the kid is so skinny, he just bounces off people when he tackles them, he gets hurt more than the runner. I don't think he can play safety, even as the back up. Maybe he can play corner if he gets lower, but he gets killed out there.
