Tubby was in Sioux City

Rivals has him ranked #105 in the Class of 2012. Offers from Minnesota, Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, Virginia, Utah, and a bunch of mid-majors. Interest from Kansas, Wisconsin, Illinois and others.

Has anyone seen him play?

Colton Iverson II

Ironically I have heard this notion thrown around too, and I am sure it will not be that appealing to Adam to see how Colton did in his time here.

I live in Sioux City and I havent seen Woodbury play but I hear for how tall he is, he is very soft. They have another kid at East who is like 6-10 and they still got outrebounded by much smaller teams.

If that is the case, perhaps he's Ralph Sampson IV rather than Colton Iverson II.

"
May, 2010: Woodbury is a skilled lefty post that plays with great energy and urgency on both ends of the floor. He runs extremely well and gets his share of easy baskets on effort alone. Woodbury can score with his back to basket with jump hooks, drop steps, turn shots and from drop off passes created by dribble penetration that he has the ability to finish with either hand. He can hit open mid range shots with range to the arc. He is also a terrific passer with great touch and feel for where to place the ball. It is a great asset to be a great passer at seven feet tall because he will always be able to see over the defense. Defensively Woodbury is a lane clogger and shot changer. He is mobile enough to defend inside and out. He is an excellent area rebounder as well. He upside is off the charts and if he adds strength and maintains his conditioning his future is extremely bright.

Also could've been looking at Mike Gesell and Wesley Staten

Probably looking at and meeting with all three, I really like Chambers for PG though , and Woodbury fills a need, wishfull thinking.

Are we sure Tubby isn't just there for spring break?

Where are people getting the idea about them having identical high school games? I haven't seen him play (doesn't sound like other people have either), but the ESPN description of his play is so far from sounding similar to Iverson. He certainly sounds like a higher rated recruit (at least so far) than Iverson.

The ESPN description makes him sound like a "one and doner" and I doubt that is the case.

Not really... Anyway, I'm mostly referring to his style of play and it really doesn't sound that similar to Iverson's. Not to mention he's a higher rated recruit than Iverson was.

Minnesota is looking at all three Sioux City prospects. I'll be in Virginia this week for the Portsmouth Invitational to watch Blake Hoffarber and also will watch the Boo Williams Invitational where Woodbury and Gessell will be playing along with Howard Pulley and many of the top Nike programs.

Not to dampen everyone's hopes here, but Woodbury is a huge Iowa lean, and perhaps is already a silent verbal.

Acknowledged, that nothing is a done deal until signed on the dotted line. However, given that Iverson left MN due to apparent issues with Tubby, I don't see where Woodbury would really be all that interested in MN.

You must have missed all of Iverson's quotes praising Tubby then ...

Iverson left because we have 3 other centers probably better than him. and 2 4 men, and a 3/4 in rodney williams. He left because he was looking at 15 minutes of playing time his senior year. And why would Woodbury be interested? The U is better athletically and academically than all of his other offers, not to mention its in the Twin cities instead of Ames, IA or Colorado.

Name me the last Iowa player that went to MN for hoops? Also, to say that Minneapolis is a better college atmosphere than Iowa City is ludicrous. I don't know what Woodbury is looking for in a college environment/program, but Iowa's hoops future is just as, if not brighter, than Minnesota's. Iowa has a new practice facility opening next year. Personally, I would not want to go to school in a large metro environment. One example of a MN kid in another sport (football), that I can think of from a small town that wanted nothing to do with U of M and attended Iowa, was Karl Klug from Caledonia, MN.

Look i really think Fran is a good coach, and Iowa will be respectable next year, but please dont think iowa is going to ever be a powerhouse or draw recruits from anywhere other than Iowa as their first choice. Iowa is a football school, and always will be. And a brighter future than the U of M? please. The only reason iowa will ever beat us out for a recruit is because that recruit is from Iowa, and has been a "fan" (and met ashton kutcher)

Wow. you must be a "young one" with your following ignorant statement - "please don't think that Iowa is going to ever be a powerhouse or draw recruits from anywhere other than Iowa". I'm not that old (mid 40s), but recall in 80's/early 90's where Iowa was even ranked #1 for a short period of time, went to a Final 4, and was a consistent NCAA tourney team. I don't think Tom Davis' teams ever lost a first round Tourney game. I actually grew up in a timeframe where Iowa generally had a better basketball team than MN. As far a recruiting out of state players - where do I begin! When Lute Olsen was Iowa's coach he generally had a team largely consisting of Chicago hoopsters - do the names Ronnie Lester and Kenny Arnold ring a bell with you? Other noteable Hawkeyes have come from out-of-state - Roy Marble & BJ Armstrong from Michigan, Ed Horton and Kevin Gamble - Illinois, Brad Lohaus from Arizona, to name a few. Heck just last year, McCaffrey added a guy from New York (Melsahn Basabe) and one from California (Bryce Cartwright). Next year's class has one of the top players from the State of Ohio. If I was a MN fan, I would be more concerned about losing some of your in-state players to out-of-state teams, as recently much of UNI's team (University of Northern Iowa) has been from MN.

Any team in the B10 can say they were sick 30 years ago. (see our football team) and all those recruits you listed off were barely sought after. Our in-state players? we lock up all the ones we want. Its not like marc sonnen would dominate the B10. Im talking about the Future. I dont see iowa ever being what they were in the 80's or 90's ever again. Why dont you rehire bruce pearl or something

Well, I did discount your comment that Iowa basketball has never been good, so not sure what your original point was? Also, you'll have to look in the history books because it has been much longer than 30 years ago when MN football was relevant!

Of course, you as an opposing fan doesn't see Iowa "ever again" returning to being a very good basketball program. However, I along with much of the Iowa fanbase certainly does not agree with you, as evident by renewed interest from season ticket holders and an uptick in attendance last year. As an Iowa fan I hope that Tubby remains at MN for a long time as he is no spring chicken and his teams have generally under-performed. Is MN now about the only program in the B10 without a separate basketball facility?

1. We currently own flloyd
2. When was the last time iowa beat a ranked team not named purdue?
3. What's so important about a practice facility? Is it going to make Brommer an all conference performer and wow marcus paige to iowa?

Tubby has never lost to Iowa, now go away tool.
