Tubby Smith doesn't close the door on Royce White returning to the Gophers next seaso

White needs 2 years of college ball...Realistically speaking White will not be drafted into the NBA yet because he has shown nothing on the court. High school no longer plays a roll in determining if a player is NBA ready.

Completely false (the high school comment).

Go tell me John Wall wasn't known as an NBA ready guy while in high school. Get real.

(ps - roll vs. role)

They aren't allowed to enter the NBA draft anymore out of high school...I think it's complete B.S...Pro scouts want to see these athletes succeed in the NBA now before they enter the pro's...Sometimes I think they should make the rule 1 year instead of 2...It can absolutely tarnish a kids dreams of making the pros if he gets injured in college...

Back on subject...No Royce is not ready for the NBA....ESPN #35 ranked recruit...not even in the terrific 25...much less in the top 12 where he would need to be to enter the NBA draft after 1 year.

some NBA team might take a stab at him in the second round and put him in the b-league-----maybe, still a loooongshot. If White doesn't play for the Gophers, look for him in Turkey playing for the Istanbul cymbals in the eastern European development league. If he get's things figured out, I would expect to see him in maroooon and goooold in 2010-2011!

Maybe White will be playing with Ricky Rubio in Spain. They both will triumphantly come rolling into the Timberwolves in 2016

The best two things about this thread:

Being reminded of this quote so apt in this situation:
In the words of (also dating myself) Dan Hicks "How can I miss you if you won't go away?"
And the link to hulu from Blizzard. I look forward to a morning lost in SNL clips. Great link, Bliz.

Truth be told, John Wall was pretty much Under The Radar until his 5th year of HS/Prep competition in 2009.

Not mentioned by recruiting analysts until summer of 2008 events.

Not that it has anything to do with my point, but you're off on your comments quoted above... unless being talked about as a top 10 player in the nation qualifies as 'Under The Radar'. The "not mentioned...until summer of 2008" is wrong.

Your facts are just jumbled up. Summer of 2007 was when everyone nationally began drooling over Wall.
