He has been bashed all year, but hats off to Tubby tonight. He had the team ready to play. Game plan to go inside with Trevor and attack Zeller was beautiful. Team won despite shooting 4-21 from three point line. If we shot even 35-40% this would have been a blow out.

Nive win Tubby you deserved it and coached a great game.

I think the inbounds plays were critically better than usual. Kudos to Tubby for shoring that up for this game, anyway.

Yes he came up with an actual gameplan, tonight is what so many expected to see all year. Tonight is for all the fans that held the coach accountable for wins and losses.

That's fair. Well said.

I'm willing to hold him accountable for this win.

Tubby Tubby Tubby - Where is Babu or GopherLady now? Tubby's main critic!

This game just illustrates what could have been. Despite pathetic 3 pt shooting and mediocre FT shooting at crunch time the Gophers played with energy and beat the #1 team in the country. If the Gophers can beat Purdue, Nebraka and Penn St Tubby may save his job. I am thrilled they won and hope they have figured what they need to do to win.

Tubby's main critic? Exaggerate much?

This was a nice win for the Gophers but it's still only one game. Tubby has squandered numerous winable games this season. The game tonight doesn't change my opinion of Tubby at all.

Perhaps Tubby should be given a week to prepare for every game...

Watching this team all year...some great games like tonight and some real crappers like the two last week...it is pretty clear that Tubby has been consistent throughout. Not defending him by any stretch...but this team lives and dies by its effort and intensity...and tonight they had it...they just don't bring it every night...hard to hang that on a coach...he can't coach and play the games.

We actually dominated this game in every aspect. We missed some many open jumpers or this would have been blow out city. We didn't turn the ball over, we out rebounded them by like 20. Seeing the fans rush the court was awesome!! But tubby is still a D+ in the coaching department. I listen to his interview after the game and i wanted to punch him in the face. JUst one game.. kids played together.. blah blah blah.. He has riped on his kids after every lost for the past 3 weeks and he gets a chance to show emtion and excitment for his kids and he lays and egg.

If this team could hit their three's they would be +4 more in wins. Yes I realize part of coaching is putting the team together. But that was the one hard thing to watch tonight. Clanging the 3's.

Ummmmm - I don't care about your opinion. Haters will still bash...even after we beat #1. Sad.

When he wants to coach he can coach, he brought his A game tonight.

I tend to think coaches generally are criticized too much after losses and are given too much credit after wins but that's just me.

Either way, it was a good game all around and hopefully will kick start the team to a great end of the season.

Probably thought that reaction backfired on him after the Wisconsin game. Oh, and you're coming off as a "richard". Maybe you want to edit that a little.

Obviously you care or you wouldn't bother to reply. Didn't bash at all, just stated a fact.

Thought the gameplan was good. My one issue was taking Trevor out and Indiana went on the 10-0 (I think) run near the middle of the 1st half. But I cant remember if he had two fouls. I dont think he did though.

Muscle-flexing between Tubby bashers/apologists aside...

I'd like to point out that we looked semi-competent against the zone tonight as well.

Real talk here... Tubby for Coach of the Year? id say heck yes... get that man a new contract!!! extend him for life!

Good point. If we knocked down a few 3's as well, I think you could say we played pretty well against the zone.

Yes! I was saying the same thing. To be honest, its about time. This season may have been a disappointment so far, but I guess watching tonights game made my optimism come back. I hated myself that I woke up this morning and thought we would for sure lose by 30.

Hats off to Tubby and the team- so fun tonight at the Barn!

+1 Very entertaining game ((since we couldn't hit 3 outside of Mav). Great enthusiasm from the fans and a nice perfromance finding a way to hang on for the win. Great showing for all in a national broadcast. Hopefully people around the country will realize how f'ing tough the BIG is this year.

Go Gophers!

Judd Zulgad tweeted that Trevor asked to come out. Probably was tired.
