TS back - as a DBack?

Finally. This is where he has always belonged. He's a very good return man, but he's not a WR.

Interesting, without knowing at what level intensity he is practicing at it would suggest a couple of things.

1. TS wants to contribute to the team and is frustrated with results so far. He wants to contribute in a large way now.
2. He sees this as his opportunity to play in the future as well, suggesting Gray at wide receiver may not be short term.
3. He may also want to play for Brew. It appears he is doing more than trying to just stay on the team until next year when Brew will be gone, Gray will be at QB, and he will be in position for increased time at WR.
4. His return to the team may have been contingent on moving to DB, making the first three moot points.

I'm thinking the move back to DB may have caused the suspension and facebook outburst. Who knows though.

That could be true however, posts on here have labeled it as an on field (practice) outburst. I took that as it happened in front of the whole team. I think they would communicate the switch to DB in a coaches office, more one on one. Although I am filling in a lot of blanks with guess work.

Maybe he will end up at TE, then DE, then DT in the upcoming weeks? I am starting to wonder about the coaching staff's ability to identify and develop talent. Perhaps this progression would have happened anywhere but it just seems strange to be making drastic changes like this in the middle of the season.

This seems as good of a time as any to to post this:

Why Stoudermire at WR?

Yeah, I would have to agree this is pretty good timing to pull that one out again. :) I actually remember you posting that one (August '09 is still in my limited memory banks). I may not agree on the Weber thing but I can't blame you for questioning the coaching staff when you can link valid questions like your point on TS.

Seems to me that its very probable that they told him in private and his displeasure with the move boiled over in practice.

That is most likely, once you start filling in lots of blanks with guess work you usually miss the most simple and likely explanation.

And you're a teacher, right?

You must be a real treat in class.

I went to school to be a teacher, but could never get a full-time job. Didn't grease the right palms or blackmail the correct people, I guess.

When I was student teaching, my students told me they learned more from me in 10 weeks than they did in 4 years with their previous teacher. Take that for what it's worth, I guess.

You should write a book on building one's Internet persona. This is good schtick.

Oh Mystic One, weren't there also a lot of posts suggesting that Troy was bad at "back pedaling" and that's was another reason for the change or was that that on other board?

I remember being rather bemused by those posts.

Well then I can see why he acted out. You do not put your players in a very good position to succeed if you continuously change their position.

Wouldn't it be wise to wait and see him play a few games at DB before you bring this out? What happens if he plays so CB and does horribly? I hope he does well but he hasn't done anything yet to show he will be good there.

Are you sure they didn't qualify their assessment of you with this addendum?

My students down here in Pasadena are taught what a Gopher is and where the state of Minnesota is (many don't know  ). I also tell them what the temperatures are like in January, and what the humidity is like in August. I also tell them why we put salt on the roads (we don't eat asphalt).

I hope you educated them similarly about South Dakota; I'm guessing that more than a few stereotypes exist!

If there making TS go back to DB why not Eskeridge

I know they promised Eskeridge a shot at tailback to get him to come to Minnesota.
He get's a lot of carries but is not the main guy. The Kirkwood kid will be getting more and more reps as the season wears on , he is just to good to be on the sideline and there will be more backs in the pipeline. Why not Eskeridge
at SS? He has been a very good tackler on special teams, the kid has a nack for tackling,
why not help out the team and play with Theret. I just don't see Royston ever getting back enough where he can help the team this year. The Manuel kid will be good but is still a little inexperienced. Eskeridge played DB in high school so it is not like he would be brand new.

Eskridge is solid, not spectacular & will continue to bewilder fans for the next two seasons because he will continue to be on the field at RB. He's been on the field since his true Freshman season & that's not changing because he does the little things that others, especially Freshmen don't do well. When I think of Eskridge I always think of the classic Leroy Hoard quote..."Coach if you need 1 yard, I'll get you 3. If you need 5 yards, I'll get you 3."
