Why the slowness in filling in the assistant coaches position? What was Ben Johnson doing to help convince current players to stay?

Doesn't tre Williams love to shoot the basketball?

Does Ben Johnson have an idea who will play guard for him?

Williams might love to shoot it; if he can (or should) shoot it is another question entirely. Someone posted recently that 200+ teams shot better than Tre. And he was our best shooter. I'll save my tears for another day.

And he probably has a better idea who will play guard for him than any of us do.

If you feel the need to panic, go for it.
 

This isn't great. I know it's year 1 so we expected bumps, but when you hire someone completely out if the blue due almost entirely based on his recruiting chops, he better figure that out ASAP. Landing guys from D2 and low majors isn't generally a recipe for success in the B1G

Tre showed some flashes but tough to say if this is really that big a loss overall. Johnson has lots of roster spots to work with and plenty of playing time to offer. Will be interesting to see who he is able to bring in.
