Trason Richardson Commits to Gophers!

I think everyone has hit on one of his best points in that he is a very willing tackler, which can be a hard thing to teach if that physicality doesn't come naturally. Yet, we saw him several times come up aggressively and challenge the RB one-on-one. I think it can be easier to teach cover technique with a kid who has speed, which he appears to have than to get him to be a great tackler if that aggressiveness doesn't come naturally at the CB position.

Not a great catch imo…hopefully he’s better than his offer list. No offense
Your posts are like elevator music for the internet, pointless, annoying, and somehow always there. It's almost impressive how you combine the confidence of a stand-up comic with the comedic timing of a dial tone. If cringe were currency, you'd be a crypto billionaire. It’s like performance art, but for wasting bandwidth.

Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and go with the staffs evaluation on safety recruiting over yours 😂😂

PJ has said it numerous times how important the camp evaluation is in the recruiting process. Also, overall the staff has done well at finding raw talent with limited/no FBS offers (Howden, Lindenberg, CrAB) plus recruiting guys before they blow up on the recruiting trail. Sometimes PJ does hang on (Koi, Bateman) and sometimes they've lost them.

I love the pickup. The kid is almost 6'4 and hits like grown man. I can easily see him moving to LB at the college level. Imagine a kid with that type of agility at the LB position. I hope he stays committed.

When a guy has a great offer list it is cited constantly as a reason to be excited, but meaningless when it isn’t a great offer list? I don’t mean to apply logic to Gopherhole, but that doesn’t make much sense.
I didn’t say the offer list is meaningless, just curious if that was the posters only reason for his opinion that it’s not a great add. For example prior to this commit I’ve gone on record of being somewhat skeptical of McGregory despite him having a nice offer list and rating and us still seeming to be in contention for him. Some guys out perform their ratings and offer list so it’s perfectly fine to form an opinion contrary to those things at times.

I believe one of the reasons he doesn't have the flashy offers is because he went to 3 different high schools.

Fair enough. I quoted your post, but meant it more at the two or three before yours.

I don't think you need to over think it.

Think about how PJ describes the Gophers as a developmental program. I'm painting with broad brush strokes here, keep in mind. The guys with the impressive offer lists are likely the most developed (mentally and physically) players and are easier to project their growth and development. Pretty easy to get excited about those players.

Now where PJ and the Gophers live often are the guys who aren't fully developed. This is where PJ says the camp evaluation is crucial for him. Maybe it's an OL or DL with the skills but needs 40 lbs or an undersized LB that they notice has the intangibles to make up for the lack of size or a RB that doesn't have the homerun speed but sees blocking schemes and cutback lanes.

You're gonna miss on some of the lesser developed guys but PJ and staff have earned some leash here with their evaluation prowess. It's not like this is a late flyer on a guy.

What does that mean? You disagree with some of my opinions, which is fine, but you also relentlessly insult me. Whatever.

That’s exactly what I was trying to say.
