Scattered showers and thunderstorms look possible Friday night, especially during the first half. Everything should clear out for the second half. Temperatures will be nice though. Upper 60s with a bit of humidity. Wind should not be a major factor, 10-15 mph through the open end of the stadium.

As for last night's microclimate, it ended up being cooler with the wind than I planned for in 211.

That plus the game and my chili was not hot (but did warm up around minute 7:30 left in the 4th Quarter).

Many people left early from our section (207) because they were not dressed appropriately. Everyone was in short-sleeve T-shirts during the tailgating and did not think the temps (along with the wind) would require jackets/sweatshirts in the stadium.

One of my buddies was convinced he could handle the game in a tee and shorts. I somehow managed to convince him to throw a pair of pants on and I brought an extra jacket. Safe to say he was wearing said jacket halfway through the second
 

As long as we don't have a lightning delay.

Yeah but that is on the sunny side of the stadium, where I am told it is always so much warmer than the shady side.

I see people (especially younger people) consistently underestimate the chill factor and wind, especially at night. It isn't just football games. I bring rookies out night fishing a lot all spring/summer/fall and I nearly always need to tell them to dress more warmly than whatever they have picked out for themselves as they show up.

I hope the rain in the forecast for gameday dries up as the week progresses just like it did last week. We've been really lucky with Gopher gameday weather so far this year.

Sitting on the Visitors side even for a night game has the benefit when there is a wind from the north to be at our back and really blocked by the stadium.

I was in the lower deck on Saturday and just fine with a long sleeve t-shirt and hoodie.
 

Remember when we used to pray for rain a few years ago? Maybe a hurricane if we're lucky.

Now the Gophers need clear and still for a chance

Bring back the Metrodome for this era

No, sitting in it sucks.

Any advantage to assist the Gophers in the past were negligible, if any.

Friday night is looking a little wetter and a little cooler than my original forecast. As of now rain looks likely for kickoff with temps in the low 60s. The heavier precip moves out for the 2nd half, but fog and light drizzle could remain. Temps won't move much, possibly dropping into the upper 50s. SW wind at 5-10 mph.
 



Well we've had a nice run of weather but my recollection of the NW State Loozanna game was that it was a little chilly too...with the little bit of rain...that had to have those Southern men thinking "why are we here?" for that one.

As was previously noted just no lightning please. Definitely a buzz kill.
 

Mel Kiper listed his TOP 120, or so, NFL Draft Picks on ESPN....
Nebraska, the #25 team in the country has nobody listed, nor do the Gophers.
I'm assuming this is 3, 4 and 5 year players only.

My weather app has steadily been making it look more dry as the week has progressed. Basically zero percent chance of precipitation after 3 pm on Friday, with a very small chance of rain prior to 3.

Weather app on phone and watch have increasingly been making it look like a spectacular tailgate and game, weather-wise on Friday.

Yes, looks like partly to mostly sunny by the time most are fully into tailgating.
 


Seems like weather apps are all over the place on this.

AccuWeather is the most pessimistic with a couple shots at T-storms. 51% at both 3pm & 8pm.

Weather.com seems to think good to go by 4pm.

WCCO4 has it only as 5% chance of rain after 5pm.
 


My app shows rain ending around 2pm, and only .05" for the entire day..
