Can anybody here give me a good reason to pull for either LSU or Alabama in tonight's game? I am a huge fan of college football and I hate the fact that this is the last game for almost nine months and I don't really care who wins. Games are much more fun to watch when I have a dog in the fight. There must be some obscure Minnesota connection to one of the teams that can give me a reason to care.

I don't care either, but I'm pulling for Alabama just to throw more fuel on the fire of the disaster that is the BCS system.

I could watch that LSU defense all day. It's like a good suspense movie that includes bits of pornography scattered throughout.

For whatever reason (rematch, SEC, etc) I'm not at all interested in tonight's game. First time in the BCS era I haven't been excited for the national championship. Haven't read or watched much coverage about it, to the point that I basically forgot until this morning that it was on tonight. I doubt I'll even watch.

I just want to see a game that's worthy of being called an NC game. May the better team win. Not sure which one that is. Given the quality of their defenses, I don't think a 60 to 55 game is in the cards.

This is the least interested I have ever been in a National Championship. Maybe if the ratings stink enough, ESPN will throw it's giant weight behind a play-off. Not holding my breath.

First thought was no. Now I've thought about it for awhile and the answer is still no.

You can always purchase a dog in the fight.

Am I seeing this right? Did the line open at LSU -1 and now it's LSU +2? The over/under is interesting at 41.

LSU..........Golden Girls. Those are some very good reasons.

You can always play (if young and have nothing better to do) the BCS Title Drinking Game.
Word of Caution: read for humor purposes only – DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENING. If you actually participate, you’ll be tanked by the end of first quarter!

Only addendum I would have put in his article:
Every time Brent Musburger says, “NOW HOLD ON……….FOLKS!” ……….Drink

The “Bama Bangs” rule is a good one.

If I had to pick I'd say LSU. Mostly b/c I like Miles (he's an odd duck) and Honey Badger (exciting player) and hate Saban.

Miles claps his hands like a sissy. Just seems creepy.

This will be the first "national championship" in the BCS era that I will miss. I have very little interest in watching two teams from the SEC play in a game that ESPN says I should watch. I had more interest in the Cotton Bowl.

Anyone that says "College football already has a playoff, it is called the regular season" should retire that phrase and come up with something else after this season.

I guess that by not watching it, I am casting my tiny vote against having two teams from the same conference play in a bowl game, especially the NC game. If the game gets bad ratings, perhaps it will make a difference down the road someday.

As a retired proctologist, here is how I look at it...... (*)

Last I heard it was Bama by 1.5 still not enough for me to touch it. Hell I wouldn't touch it unless I could get either team by 3 or more. But if the over/under is really 41, wow when did Vegas start giving away money. This game is going under by 10 point that case. But I also thought the same thing about the Kentucky-IU when they only had UK by 1.5 and we all know how that ended up.

Get this game done with, then signing day is around the corner... then comes Spring practices!

This. I'm also with GopherRock on the Meteor.

This is the most idiotic, stupid false NC game in the history of the BCS. This is much, much worse than the old days when #1 would play #3 or #4 or some other mismatches. You have all those goobers on ESPN drooling esssss-eeeee-ceeeee and they all talked themselves into this stupid rematch. College teams simply don't play enough quality opponents outside of their conference to get a reasonable idea of how good they are. Alabama beat a mediocre Penn St and beat down a crappy, down SEC and by virtue of that and a few losses, gets to play a rematch against a team they lost to at home. If they win, they're Nat'l Champs. And how do I know the SEC is crappy??!!! Well, I don't - it's not possible to know since each team played 1 or 2 decent teams out of their conference.

If I had a vote, I would vote for LSU no matter who won the game. They beat Oregon, Alabama on the road, Arkansas and West Virginia. Don't give me this stupid BS that Alabama should get it just because they beat Arkansas and LSU on a neutral field.

If Alabama wins, perhaps the outcry will be enough to hasten the day when we finally get a playoff. I wouldn't have had much of a problem with putting both LSU & Alabama in a playoff - even a 4-team playoff. If they both won their semis, then let them play again. But this crap with picking 2 teams is so stupid, it's unbelievable. This game is an affront to all the good and decent fans of college football.

I think LSU winning, especially if it's big, does more for the argument against the BCS. Since LSU already beat Alabama on the road, someone else should get a shot.

As it stands now, "the game of the year" we saw in September didn't mean a damn thing.

It certainly makes the division and conference title meaningless.

You guys should be happy.
The SEC will no longer be undefeated in the NC game. :D

Here is the Gopher connection needed for anyone to root for Alabama. I am, and have always been, a Gopher fan first. I always liked Bear Bryant a lot, so I liked Alabama second. My favorite player for Alabama was Major Ogilvie. I named my one of my dogs, Major. The rest of the family wouldn't let me name him Upchurch. My dog lived with me in Minnesota. I think that settles that.

Not Gopher related
This game determines the BCS champion, and the Gophers are a member of the BCS. We should definitely care about this game. Especially since this game could cause more upheaval bringing about a change in the BCS system, which again the Gophers are a part of. Keep trying though!

For you young guys who didn't exercise caution and decided to play the BCS Drinking Game tonight, Jamarcus Russell has been already photo'd on Twitter. Take your first drink!

Alabama could be 1st conference team to win national title without winning its conference title since Minnesota in 1936. #BCSChampionship
