I rewatched the game this week and I thought it was a valiant first effort -- but he had a lot of work to do.How did Tommy do in the booth?
Needs some Polish. I felt like you could tell he was nervousHow did Tommy do in the booth?

I would add a spritz of Irish too, if I were him!Needs some Polish. I felt like you could tell he was nervous
I think Morrell turned them down.Power Trip Morning show ---> BTN connection? I believe that Brock Vereen was their weekly guest while he was playing, before a short stint with Mortell, and then Tommy Olson.....who's now just a weekly regular.
That's okay, I don't enjoy Paul Allen at all.Agree that as a first timer he did okay but needs to work on things. He was no Paul Allen. He leaned toward the Gophers but he wasn't a flat-out homer.
That's a good thing. He was no Paul Allen.
Why are you here? Tommy knows more about football than you could absorb with a real, working half-brain, which you are short of. Done with you, clod.Godawful. Giggling buffoon.

Yep. PA is an unprofessional hack who has no business being the voice of an NFL team. I don't like the Packers, but Wayne Larravie, their radio guy, is about as good as it gets as far as calling football on the radio. That's a good thing.
Paul Allen is the Vikings announcer. Tommy O isn’t the Gophers announcer. Major difference.
I was out and about on Saturday, so I only got to hear parts of the game on the radio, but this is pretty much what I assumed it would be based on what I've heard of him on KFAN. Tommy has the mental capacity of a 14 year old it seems.Godawful. Giggling buffoon.
Not surprising you'd have the stupidest comment in this thread. Why are you here? Tommy knows more about football than you could absorb with a real, working half-brain, which you are short of. Done with you, clod.
He should have imparted some of that knowledge instead of giggling like a schoolgirl. Why are you here? Tommy knows more about football than you could absorb with a real, working half-brain, which you are short of. Done with you, clod.
Something he should never, ever have done on a network broadcast. He referred to the Gophers as "we".
It's a tie between PA and Dave Lee for the worst PbP football announcer I've ever heard. He makes it sound like I’m watching a horse race. Yells too much.

Yep. Nothing but respect for the man and his distinguished career. But as the Gopher PbP announcer, he was the pits.Forgot about Dave Lee. Nice guy but a godawful announcer.
