Tom Wistrcill named new AD at Akron

We need Akron on the football schedule to complete our tour of the MAC schools in Ohio over the last decade: Toledo, Bowling Green, Ohio, Miami U., Kent State...one to go.
 

He was here for the construction of TCF Bank Stadium and on September 12 he'll be on hand as Akron opens their own brand new on campus stadium.

Was wondering about how much Tom interacted with gopher fans and if any of you have any opinion of him as an AD. He just had his introductory press conference here @ UA and seems pretty well spoken and experienced, as much as you can be in 5 minutes.

He's UA's 3rd AD in the past 5 years (lost one to Cincinnati and one to Houston), not counting interims. Generally speaking, things are on a big uptick around the Zips Nation .. first NCAA hoops birth in 23 years, football on campus for the first time in decades, national title contender in men's soccer. Is Tom a good guy to keep the momentum going?
