Tim Abromaitis Denied 6th Year

GW, you are losing all credibility by suggesting that the U would submit the application to the NCAA with false or misleading information about the Florida case. Even if Tubby suddenly became a big "win at all costs" shyster (which runs contrary to his frustratingly "high road" approach on everything else, like not selling his soul recruiting or clearing a space for Lockett), do you really think the U's legal department would sign off on that? The same legal dept that wouldn't let us hire Jimmy Williams due to his peripheral connection to events 30 years ago?

If you believe that, then I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.

Why don't you just admit that it kills you to keep seeing a guy that jilted your team, be a star somewhere else? Hey, I kind of know how it feels...pretty much sucked watching Royce White this year (although it was my own school's fault he left). Must be doubly tough with Crean coaching the probable preseason #1 this year. : )

P.S. You're clearly not a lawyer and have no experience with how plea deals work, so quit trying to expound on the Florida legal system.

Does anyone really believe that the NCAA didn't know about how the case in Florida was resolved? His legal issues were the only reason he missed a year. Kind of a big reason for his appeal. Maybe they didn't know he tore his ACL last year. Maybe they just flipped a coin to decide on his 6th year. Maybe the NCAA committee likes the name Trevor and they dont like the name Tim.

No, there was no coin toss or name favoritism involved here. TM was granted his 6th yr based solely on his bright smile and positive, upbeat personality. In the NCAA, this is referred to as the EMJ Element (Earvin Magic Johnson) and is weighted heavily in all decisions pertaining to player eligibility. You can look it up!

I don't think GW truly believes the committee had no clue he was guilty, I think the issue is that, in his opinion, Trevor being guilty is a huge, big, enormous deal and feels everyone should treat it as such.

The committee granting a 6th year means that they didn't see it as a big deal, so that means they either really didn't know about it or are just as mentally impaired as every Gopher fan is for not seeing the severity of this guilt of a felony that resulted in zero jail time or significant punishment.
