[TICKETS REMAINING TRACKING THREAD] - How many seats are unsold vs MD, PSU and WIS?

I used to obsess about attendance and who was not there but a couple years ago I said "screw it" and just stopped caring. I will make arguments about the pricing but whether people come or not is out of my control. Just enjoy the season and if you have tickets, be loud and have fun.

Is nobody else on hear embarrassed this Penn State game won’t sell out?

Yeah I’ll be embarrassed if it doesn’t. There’s still time. I’ll only be embarrassed because I don’t understand how anyone would wanna miss such a potentially historic game. Disillusioned from the Gopher football team from the recent decades or not, fans that have taken a step back from the Gophers should see this as a good chance to witness history and what could be a big turning point for the program. I guess I’m just wondering what the people that lost faith in Gopher football are going to need to see out of the program for them to come back to supporting. It can’t just be a money/ticket price thing. There’s something else, maybe college football is just not the trendy thing to support nowadays in metro areas.

My family has got 4 season tickets. I guess I shouldn’t really care but how will it look when we got millions watching on ABC and this is the biggest game since I don’t know when and the student section is half full. Plus a lot of open seats in upper deck. Hopefully sales go up.

A packed house might show the team (and PJ) that we appreciate them. Won’t hurt recruiting either.

It probably doesn’t help the seat selection site is clunky and slow vs after market ticket sellers. It took awhile but nosebleed seats in the middle sections are $120 on the visitor side, corners are mostly $85 with some $65 thrown in.

Is this typical pricing? Seems high for a program trying to bring in fans. Don’t screw the pooch on this guys...butts in the seats. Plaster it in the building. Do something.

Comparing ticket prices between Big Ten schools is foolish. there’s no way of correctly gauging value. Each team is playing someone different, each team is of different quality with different records and different things on the line, venues are of different qualities, matchups are of different importance depending on who the opponent is, seating is different for every stadium, history/legacy of each stadium/team is different. Way too many variables if the objective of comparing schools is to somehow make MN look like it has overpriced tickets.

You are welcome to do any comparison you see fit to make it "look" like Gopher single game football tickets are not overpriced. I randomly picked two other stadiums and selected similar seats - nosebleed seats, high on the side, and the results speak for themselves. I agree it is difficult to do an exact apples to apples comparison but the differences are so significant I believe it burns right through the "apples and oranges" argument. If my intention was to unfairly put Gopher tickets in a bad light, expense wise, I would have picked different seats and compared with Northwestern.

Northwestern isn’t a football school, their stadium and turnout speaks for itself. We want to be as far away from being like Northwestern as possible.

Badgers Iowa same day in Madison is a premium game. Best available price through Badger website is $123 in upper deck, row 40, 10 yard line. Our upper deck doesnt have 40 rows. And there lower deck is twice as big as ours, so you are up there. StubHub lowest in the door is $105 for that game.

Is there a place on the website where it just shows total number remaining? I need some brainless activity for the next 2 weeks and watching that number drop could be kinda fun

Build the fan base...

Pigs get fed hogs get slaughtered comes to mind. I’m sure they have their best people working on this but if there is a risk for swaths if open chairs time to start reducing prices. And, the pricing website could be much more informative and user friendly without drilling down to each individual seat. Fix the website speed, make it easy to shop. It isn’t stubhub where every seat is a different price.

I guarantee the student section will be full. There’s a buzz on campus way above anything I’ve seen in my 3 years here. At least 10 of my friends (and their friends) who are recent grads are coming back. I’m sure there will be plenty more. It may not be completely full at kickoff due to the early start (college kids will be college kids) but it will absolutely fill up. It’s the general admission, specifically the box side upper deck, that I’d be worried about.

Awesome! I would have expected as much, but great to hear confirmation!

I heard yesterday on the radio that student season ticket holders get to bring a friend (non-STH) for free. Build the base!!!!!

This is true. All student season ticket holders get an extra ticket for Saturday's game. Hopefully that deal gets used to its maximum potential and that student section is packed come 11am next Saturday

Those seats have been more full than the top of the student section. They aren't general admission.

They are also selling seats in 229, which I think is usually student tickets, to the general public...list at $65 bucks for those with tight budgets.

yes this is a good idea. A friend just purchased one in row four of section 229.

This thread sorta started that way; but quickly staggered off course crushed by mere commentary.

So not counting the singles that's over 3100 tickets left just on the shady side in the upper deck...ouch

3100+ on the sunny side according to your numbers (3127)

I have sold some single game tickets in the past couple days to friends and family via the STH discount. Co-workers are asking me about them too.

Also started an email with my original season ticket group (started at 12 or so in the Dome days, but only 2 of us have ST now) to discuss postseason plans. When even your worst case plans involve a warm-weather bowl game, all you can do is smile and enjoy the ride!
