Thomas Hammock and Karma

I actually think Lakeville might be closer on this one than you think. Don't know if it was planned from the get go but Kill is very loyal to his guys so he may have wanted to keep an old staff memeber around to get through signing day but not as a long term solution. Not sure they would have orchestrated him going to Wisconsin but I wouldn't be shocked for find out Hammock was never in the long term plans here and was just a short term bandaid.
Short term!, perhaps, but for a full season. I remember Coach Kill saying repeatedly that he knows how they play in practice but he doesn't know how they'll play in games. Keeping a member of the previous staff that knows the kids helps bridge that gap. Hammock jumped ship only a couple months after Kill took over.
 




Yeah - I mean, it's not like Luke Fickell was retained by Urban Meyer or anything.

Yes, but to be fair, Fickell was put back in his previous roll. Horton would have taken a serious demotion from OC to RB coach.
