I can't even answer this question. Definitely one of my favorite victories for Gopher football in the last 40 years. An absolute beatdown of the Hawkeyes. The Iowa fans behind me started to talk trash after the 1st drive, but were quickly silenced. They left at halftime to get beer and never returned.

Back to the original question, the Nebraska win last year was huge. But it wasn't as thorough as what we did to Iowa. And I don't hate Nebraska like I do Iowa. The 1993 victory over Wisconsin is close to the top of my list, but it may have been surpassed by what we witnessed today.

Satisfying? I'd say when we blew out Purdue and thought Nelson was the franchise.

It's the happiest win for me since Nebraska last year, or maybe Iowa 3 years ago.

The same two came to the top of my head as well.

Actually, Michigan was more satisfying for me this year. I've seen us beat them a few times now, but never had I seen us dominate them (except in a game we lost). So that was satisfying. I love this win because it will shut the Iowa crew up for a year. They have a few threads on their rivals site mapping out how they can still win the west. Funny.

Tough to say. I don't remember many years where the Gophers have played a border rival in a game that really meant something in the standings, where the Gophers actually came out on top. I think you may have to go back to the Rhys Lloyd game in 2003, and even in that game the Gophers were like 8 point favorites and were widely expected to win. This was the type of more or less 50/50 game that the Gophers have lost to Iowa (funny how '03 works as an example here too) or Wisconsin with regularity for decades.

Extremely satisfying win, lets hope that phrase can come more rule than exception in regards to border games going forward.

Beating Wisky for the 4th trophy is going to be the real satisfier. We got 3 right now!

Me too. I got emotional at the end of the Michigan game. This was nice, but that was special.

Ever for me - but granted I'm only 27. This win makes me look forward to Monday. One of the people I work with (who happens to be an insufferable curse word) is a huge hogeyes fan, and was talking all kinds of smack last week.

I'd say since 2010? With Horton at the helm in the interim, everyone looked past us, Iowa was playing for something,
came in like they were gonna steam roll us 1984 style, and we stole the pig from them. When life get's me down,
I still watch replays from that game to bring me back up. So good..

Since the Metrodome fiasco, when IA beat us like 55-0. I was there and stayed until the bitter end. Today's game was very satisfying... Would have liked the Gophers to go for the 2 point conversion on their last td, though... :)

That game will forever be one of my favorites as well. We had a lame duck coach, it was freezing cold, the last game of the season, and the crowd was sparse. Yet those guys wanted it...

Since Michigan just over a month ago. Before that I'd say Nebraska last year. I am still in awe of the Nebraska win just because of the years of having the '83 game drilled into my head by the local media. Before that Iowa 2010 and before that Purdue 2008 since they were always Mase's bugaboo. Oh before that Iowa 2006 and before that Michigan 2005 and then before that would be Ohio St 2000. We've had a such a terrible 20 years against our closest rivals that you might as well chalk up ever win against Wisconsin and Iowa as equally as satisfying.

After that game, I never had so much fun since my late Momma got her tit caught in the wringer of the old washing machine.

Now we know the rest of the story about how Don began drinking beer at such a young age. His milk supply dried up and his dad handed him a cool one with a nipple on top.

That was the low point as a Gopher fan for me. It sucked. Last game in the dome in a season that started so promising. I thought we were doomed forever as a program. To return the favor yesterday was so sweet. The most satisfying win hasn't happened yet IMO and it's coming this year or very soon. It's when we throttle Wisconsin.

Now you know the Rest of the Story.

But my clothes were clean.

Illinois in 2011
Purdue in 2012
Nebraska in 2013
Iowa in 2014

Each year the staff and players have put together a masterpiece. Hope we see another this year.

One of many favorites.....the 1977 16-0 win over Michigan was otherworldly. The 1999 win over Penn State was great, as was the
2000 victory in the Horseshoe. Beating Wisconsin in 2003 for our 9th win was a biggie......
