They all DOMINATED today!!!

Nebraska had a good day on defense. The offense has good skill players, but continues to have some major problems with the fundamentals and many people think the OC does some strange playcalling. The Gophers would need a solid day on both sides of the ball to win, but on any down Nebraska can either explode or implode on offense.

Agree to a certain extent about Nebraska's offense but when Abdullah is out there they have the ability to be special. People are downplaying their win against Purdue but they still beat them by a couple of TD's without their Heisman trophy RB for most of the game. Take Cobb away and imagine how well our offense would do against the likes of anyone in the Big Ten.

If we take this past Saturday as our only snapshot of the four teams that the Gophers play...then it looks bleak. However, rather than looking at those teams, we can look at what the Gopher's do well. We are an above average defensive team. We are a solid run team with a QB who is getting better at finding receivers. We are above average on special teams. There is a reason why we've only lost two games...and it isn't just "because the teams we played all sucked". The Gophers are fundamentally solid and they will have a chance to win every game they play. Just take care of what you have control over and let the rest take care of itself. Ski-U-Mah!

OSU should have absolutely no chance to be in the final four based on their loss to Virginia Tech who won't even have a .500 record on the year. That one loss is enough to sink them. Plus Sparty will beat them, but still.

True and they also had to go into OT against a terrible PSU team.

I am expecting the Gophers to beat Iowa and Nebraska this year. Iowa because I think this team has some great senior leadership and they were embarrassed by Iowa two years in a row. If the Gophers DLine can hang in there at all, the Gophers will be fine.

The Gophers beat Nebraska on the line of scrimmage last year. Do we think Nebraska has improved on both sides of the ball that much over 1 year? I know that the game being played in Lincoln is huge, but I expect the Gophers to come out for that game like they are the better team and show it.

Iowa's road record

Rutgers has looked like a dumpster fire the last three weeks. We all know Iowa blows on the road for some weird reason but they looked good yesterday. I think the bye came at a good time team clearly needed to check themselves plus they've had to stew on that illini lisx for two weeks. I would hardly call nebradka's performance dominant

Prior to the 7-point loss to Maryland, Iowa had won 7 of its previous 8 road games. Only loss in that time was 34-24 to Ohio State in 2013 (game tied going in the fourth quarter).

Note: that is not guaranteeing that Iowa will play well at Minnesota this weekend. Iowa and Minnesota appear to be very similar. Both have played well at times, want to be physical, but also have had stinkers for losses. Iowa would appear to be able to throw the ball more effectively, but no idea if that will matter on Saturday.

Nebraska is indeed improved, even if they still have problems. Nebraska was a mess last year. The starting QB was gimpy and would soon be replaced by a combo of freshman and walk-on QBs, many expected Pelini to be fired at the end of the year, and there were regular problems on both sides of the ball.
