There's no way they deserved to make it. Follow the money...

And also, Tulane got robbed. The refs gave the AAC game to Memphis with multiple really bad calls in the final 30 seconds... This let one more bubble team make it to the dance.

Interesting. I’ll take your word for this as I haven’t looked… and would rely on @SelectionSunday unimpeachable opinion anyhow.

There is a payment schedule for participating teams that last 7 years (I think) after the tourney from the NCAA. That could make this a much larger issue.

Not a fan of NC, but they would argue the Pomeroy has them at #33, far ahead of West Virginia
at #53

Looking at the resumes of these teams; and NET rankings. 1) NET rankings overrate some bad teams.

There are way too many teams in the tourney. Cut the last 4 bullshit. 64 has produced some fun, but it legitemately too many. Since its fun we should keep it as that.

I hate to say it, but UNC has a really good chance of knocking off ole miss.

I’m fading a lot of sec teams.

There is a 0.0% chance that the tournament is going to get smaller at any point in the foreseeable future. It might get bigger but it definitely won't get smaller.

agreed, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t too big.

I agree.....64 was just fine the way it was. The first 4 thing adds nothing to the tournament and I would hate to see them expand even more. There will always be controversy with who gets in and who gets left out no matter how big the tournament is.

From years on the football board, I was told to believe that expanding the "playoff" would solve all these issues and everyone would be happy.

Not the case? ;)

They no showed, but we'd still take him in a second. Let's be real.
SDSU was playing defense to start, but UNC crushed their will by playing lock down defense and making everything. UNC was also notably quicker.

My wife is a UNC alum and I've watched them quite a bit. This was the good UNC. When they play like that, watch out. But they can be lazy (see lazy passes early in this one) and lose to anyone. Totally Jeckel and Hyde this year.

Agreed, but please don't let it get bigger. There are already bad teams getting in.

I’m officially off Brian Dutcher as our next coach.
You don't have to be much of a bookie to foresee San Diego State getting boat raced by North Carolina.
They find out their matchup Sunday night. They scramble to gather a scouting report on North Carolina. They get up Monday morning for an all day trip across the country to the diagonal opposite corner of the USA to check into their hotel losing time each time zone.

They have a mandatory open gym with fans at the arena.

They go back to the hotel meeting room and now discuss North Carolina with the players in a "walk through" for the first time.

Exhausted, without even one practice in a gym, SDS hops on the bus to go play their game.

Who is going to win? The rested team in the same time zone who has practiced and has the extra motivation of being called a travesty for even participating. Having a governor demand an investigation how this team could possibly be in the tournament versus his state's team chosen.

Not much doubt about the outcome long before tipoff.

UNC with one Quad 1 win is ridiculous. Their best win was UCLA and I heard their second best win was against American....SMH
