Was Oto. 1st guy off the bench, 3 solid games in a row, easily best player on the 2nd team & the only guy who seemed to know wtf was going on at times towards the end of the game.

Sadly, he missed the rim by about 2 feet on his only 3 attempt....Eliason wasn't needed in that game. We coulda came in with Shell and Halvorson and still won the game.

We have five guys on our bench that can provide quality minutes and will play a role in how this team does. Ingram and Eliason are defensive stoppers, i would also say Elliott is a solid passer, Welch and Oto both have the ability to get hot and score points, I think with the more physical play Oto has stepped up, he cameon towards the end of last year. Mav will have to spell Dre at times, as long as he keeps offense in flow, no turnovers, he's alright. Big Mo has talant, but needs to drop weight, to be able to play on this team, Wally's a freshmen, I'm excited for him, but he will play five minutes a night tops, when the game is decided, too much depth.

Oto is moving well without the ball. Whenever you have players doing that, good things are going to happen.

For whatever the reason, Oto seems to be fighting an uphill battle with a big chunk of the Gopher fan base. From a minutes-played standpoint, he's the 9th player on the team, 4th player off the bench. He's shooting 80% from the FT line and he's got a 2-to-1 assist-to-TO ratio. Yes, he was billed as a sharp-shooter and he hasn't been very good from long range, but it wouldn't be hard to attribute that to getting limited minutes.

He'll continue to be a solid contributor as the season plays out. Hopefully he finds the range from distance and he'll be that much more effective.

2 feet LONG though. He's got pipes!

The problem wasn't that he shot long...it was that he was standing 2 feet inside the three point line and still shooting a three. If he would have been behind the line...it would have been perfect.

I wonder if all the harshness on Oto was that he was recruited partly as a 3 pt shooter and the thought was he was replacing one of the most popular players in recent history. No one replaces anyone. We thought Oto could shoot outside, he can't, but suprise suprise he can play a little defense, he is a good defensive rebounder, he has toughness, he's a great passer, and maybe someday that shot will return.
