lakes, should we win both, I can guarantee there will be no letdown vs #2 in the nation.

Is that most people's feeleings on this, that if MN goes 0-3 the next three that they are out of the running for the B10 title? More or less?

I originally thought we're out of it if we go 0-3 just like most who responded. However after looking at our schedule again I'm not so sure. We get Illinois and Indiana @thebarn later in the season so we could easily split with them still. This is our only game with Michigan so we would need help there. We already have a victory against MSU. So while we would have an uphill climb I don't think it automatically ends our chances to have the best record.

But these next three games will be huge for the confidence of the team. If we go 0-3, yeah we could still win the conference, but I have to believe the teams confidence/moral would decrease. A team with decreased confidence in themselves will not win the B1G. If we win one or two, it proves to the guys that they can compete for a title.

I don't disagree with your confidence angle. I think a lot depends on how the games play out. Are they blowouts or OT losses? There is a big difference. If we lose all 3 by a combined 8 points I would be thinking "can't wait to get them back @theBarn". After Michigan we have an easier schedule:

@NW
@Wisc
vs Neb
vs Iowa

While none of those are going to be cake walks if the Gophers are truly a top team they should be able to regroup and rebuild some confidence in that stretch before we hit @MSU and ILL.

^ You make some good points. Lets hope they get off on the right foot tonight with a big W!

Tonights game is huge. If we can win this game then I think we have a shot at going 2-1 with an upset over either MI or IN. However, if we lose tonights game then we could easily go 0-3. Here's to hoping our defensive pressure is outstanding tonight!

Well, at least five of you were wrong.

I'm going on record and changing my vote to 2-1. After watching what our guys did tonight to a really good Illinois team I am absolutely convinced we can beat Indiana on the road.

Im here to eat my crow. I said 0-3. Really impressed with the team tonight. Dominant performances by Trevor, Andre, and Joe. If we have three guys hot per night this team is going to be special.

MadtownGopher - I was wrong and I am here to admit it.

I really want to hate you for having "badger" in your username. Please stop being rational and level-headed, it's making it hard for me.

No problem. You are allowing your inner Badger to cloud your judgement.

A win at Indiana and suddenly the Michigan game becomes the biggest game thus far in the Tubby era.

The barn will be electric regardless, but if it's #2 Michigan vs. #3/4/5 Minnesota... Wow.

A loss at Indiana and the Mich game will still be the biggest in the Tubby era.

I'm getting excited just thinking about a 2 vs. 3 matchup involving a Minnesota team!

coming into the B1G season my goal for the gophers for the first 5games was 3-2, so 0-2 next 2games isn't a big deal for me. But at the time, I wasn't really thinking B1G championship, more of a top4 finish because of hard the conference is, but if they want to win the title, realistically they need to go 1-1, win at home against michigan(I think this is a must if we are serious about winning the B1G, must defend homecourt) A win in Indiana would be a huge plus, but I don't think its a must, when we play them at home, that will be a must

After the win at Ill many will consider the Gophers a title contender at present time.

Mich and Indy are considered the two favorites. We will play them a total of three games this year. Two of those three are next up. These are huge games and will set the tone for the rest of the season.

A loss at Indy and we would still have a chance to gain a split with them at home. Mich game is the more important of the two.

Win or lose at Indy, the Mich game will be huge and the talk of the town. Anyone have any tickets they want to sell for face value?:)

Will be cheering for a Gopher win and a Duke loss on Saturday.

I actually think the Michigan game is bigger. Only play them once so a win we have the tie-breaker on them, and I would rather defent the home court, and the game at Indiana is probably the toughest game on the schedule. Just my opinion, but if we lose to Indiana and beat Michigan, I think most people will view the conference as a 3 team race with MN in the middle of it.
