The coaches should have observed the potential deficiency during warmu

In the first half when Leidner was sacked and fumbled, he had Williams out in the flat wide open. I think Lender had to have some sort of awareness on that play. Maybe Roderick is supposed to chip that end but I don't think so. Hopefully Jonah clears all that up.

Wasn't Jonah. It was Ben Lauer. And, he had about two seconds to make reads from the missed block on the DE.

I saw that, too. That's the complicated part of being a QB, IMO. Certain plays, based on presnap reads will have progressions. Perhaps TCU disguised the coverage, leaving the flat open. I hope this is the area Mitch continues to improve as he gains confidence, experience, and studies film. That's why it's such a thing of beauty to watch someone like Tom Brady when he's dialed in like he was Thursday. He always seems to throw to the best area to exploit a defense's weakness. That being said, I wondered about Roderick. Seemed the coaches were willing to put it all on Lauer (and ultimately on their decision to have him in there), and if he doesn't whiff, maybe it's a big play.

you are dead wrong. I have learned on Gopher Hole that our coaches are infallible as to who should start. If they start someone, then that is who should start. After all, they are at practice every day. Now Urban Myer had Jones 3rd string qb last year and lst string this year. But he is fallible.

He won the national title. So, no, he's not fallible.

But the coaches said they were the ones responsible, that they made a mistake. If there are folks on GH who think they made a mistake in claiming they made a mistake, they evidently aren't true believers in this coaching staff.

What the **** are you talking about? Braxton Miller was the heisman favorite before his injury. JT Barrett played out of his mind before being injured. Ohio State has depth at qb unlike every team in America, including Minnesota. My parents are both buckeyes (oh god help me) Comparing how OSU handles their qb situation does NOT reflect in any way, shape, or form how Minnesota handles its situation. Your argument makes little, check that, no sense to me. And yes, I have always been and always be a diehard gopher fan. **** the bucks

I'm so glad you started a new thread about this play. We need to discuss it for awhile.
