The Mall of America Bowl

How about a big agri conglomerate like CHS? CHS Blizzard Bowl.

I think a bowl game at US Bank Stadium would be a lot more appealing than a bowl game in Detroit. There's the Mall of America, and light rail connecting the mall and the stadium. Plus there's a lot of things to. The Minneapolis Institute of Art and they could bring back the Holidazzle Parade for the bowl.

If we landed a bowl game, they'd work it out to select mid-west teams where fans potentially could drive (e.g., Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, etc.). I think it'd be good to rotate some of the lesser bowl games, where four cities host the game so it cycles back every fifth year. Having a once-every-five-years bowl game would probably attract more fans than having it in the same location every year.

It really depends on how much cash the bowl committee puts up. Bottom-tier payout, you'll get bottom-tier teams.

I always thought it would be fun to go to a local bowl game, but unfortunately this thread changed my mind. The possible scenario of Colorado vs. Memphis does nothing to move my needle and I wouldn't have much interest spending anything more than $15 or $20 to go to it.

I do wish US Bank would get in the rotation for the National Championship game.

Idaho Potato Bowl is almost empty every year BSU isn't there

I know what you mean with the game not being very appealing but Memphis played Penn State in the Cotton Bowl this year. It would probably be more like Colorado v. Temple.

I also have no interest in going to a game like this but I think the community could benefit from hosting a bowl game every year.

Bowls are sponsored by companies for the publicity and the cities support the bowls hoping for visitors. The teams' fans come to the bowls to support their team and also for a bit of a vacation.
If some boosters think Minneapolis in December is a draw give it a try.
The lesser bowls that I have watched on TV look as if no more than 5-10 thousand total fans are in the stands even in places that are warmer than MN.
