The Journey was shown after the game and it feature Richard and Rick. Good bit. I liked how Richard essentially said he knows having Rick as his dad has opened up doors for him.

However, the ending just pissed me off more about the Purdue game. One of the clips they showed was the Hammons shoving Andre Hollins out of the way for an offensive rebound late in the game and then DeAndre getting all ball but still getting called for a foul. Another was in the third overtime that showed one of the obvious Hammons hooking his defender while making a move to the hoop.

GophersInIowa, do you think Purdue should have been called for basket interference on Malik's three to end the second overtime? I am surprised they didn't review it. Or maybe it's not reviewable.

I need to look for a replay of The Journey. I was bouncing around the house after the game.

I don't think so. But it was close.

The Journey will be on again shortly after the Finale.

I loved the shots of him getting Little Dre about his attitude/leadership. Judging from tonight it paid off.

I might be wrong, but I don't ever remember seeing Mo flop. The way Mo went down after that hook, you'd like to see a call there. In fairness to Purdue, Joey King used the same move earlier in the game (albeit with much less force). I can't blame the refs for that one with as poorly as the Gophers rebounded and competed for loose balls, but it still ticks me off to see those replays.

I thought it was interesting when Pitino brought up fear of missing the tournament on the Journey and how that was negatively affecting his team. It seemed very much like the team was fearing the type of second half collapse that the fans are/were (and has happened many times recently). It's going to be a tough climb to get to 9-9, but a win in Madison can change the outlook quickly.

After watching that, I think we can safely rule out Richard leaving for an NBA job.....ever.

I get the feeling that Richard is about building a program with quality student athletes. I think he cares more about the players and their development than about winning. A genuine caring for the individual players. They are responding to that. I think he is all about winning too.

That angle showed Hammons' hook so clearly it was almost shocking - and the ref standing right there. After watching that show, I agree with Pitino that they team competed and fought through all the crap 'til the bitter end.

Speaking of shocking, Pitino was certainly on Mathieu in practice. I know the kid is tough, but you don't want to beat anyone down too much.
