Go Gophers!!
Good for him! It's kind of an interesting hire. Supposedly, Ryan Saunders was the architect of Denver's offense last year and the offense received a ton of criticism. I have my doubts Malone gives his assistants a ton of slack to do their own thing, so I am not sure if that means anything.

Their offense was criticized? They finished 4th in offensive rating with Jokic surrounded by a bunch of scrubs. I'd say they did pretty well so good for Saunders!Good for him! With the guy in Memphis (I'm not double-checking to make sure I get the spelling right), he's more known for being an offensive-minded coach. I think a lot of folks assumed he would have gone with a coach more known for defensive chops.
Oddly enough, because his father was not, Ryan is very much an analytics guy so maybe the Grizz are leaning into that.
Either way, he's a good dude and a Gopher. Good luck to him!
I had heard criticisms that the offense had no structure, it was just Jokic and guys standing around. That said, I'm not sure there is a better offense than that.Their offense was criticized? Ya, I think you just let the Joker cook and then eat whatever he decides to fix for supper.I had heard criticisms that the offense had no structure, it was just Jokic and guys standing around. That said, I'm not sure there is a better offense than that.

Well then, their defense was very mediocre, but when Jokic/Murray/MPJ are your top 3 players I can understand the struggles lolSaunders main responsibilities were Denver's Defense, not the Offense.

I think "mediocre" is a very kind description of the Nugs defense.Well then, their defense was very mediocre, but when Jokic/Murray/MPJ are your top 3 players I can understand the struggles lol
Gotcha. For whatever reason, I thought he was in charge of offense duties.Saunders main responsibilities were Denver's Defense, not the Offense.

Hey now, they rated the best of the worst 1/3 of the league : )I think "mediocre" is a very kind description of the Nugs defense.
Maybe 1 more win over OKC could have saved him, though the new HC probably wanted to change it up a bit regardless.Hey now, they rated the best of the worst 1/3 of the league : )
Denver over OKC would have been a cataclysmic level upset. The fact it went to 7 is incredible. Kudos to Denver for fighting until the end.Maybe 1 more win over OKC could have saved him, though the new HC probably wanted to change it up a bit regardless.
