Cool new video from the Gophers on Bakary and Gaston -- cool in-depth info, definitely worth watching.

High expectations on these guys this year!!

good stuff. their development is really important. they sure made it seem like gas had a ton of points this past year! they must have showed every basket he had.

I don't know why this video would give you high expectations? I hope you don't have high expectations. Neither of them have had a complete year of college basketball under their belt in the sense they've either had limited practice time and or limited time in the school last year.

I have high level of excitement to watch them develop as I see them as very intriguing prospects. They appear to have a desire to get better and improve, neither of them showed me last year that they picked anything up at an accelerated rate. My hopes are they will be top half at their position/role as juniors and seniors. Gas as a top 5 backup at the 4 and some minutes at the 5 when we want to pressure and Bakary as a top 5 starter

Good video. Easy to root for these guys and I hope they have success on and off the court.

You know nothing.

If you have a high level of excitement to watch them develop, then to me it is irrational not to also have expectations. You seem to see potential? Nobody will realize potential without high expectations. They say they demand high expectations of themselves and you know the coaches demand it of them.

I agree with Dr Don.

I thought he was saying high expectations next year.

I don't expect them to be anything other than fun to watch improve next year. He might have meant the same.

I doubt it

I'm not sure why so many people are down on BK and GD. They looked like raw freshmen last year. Guess what?... They were. I saw a lot to like in terms of athleticism and more offense than I expected. They will improve immensely this year. If we can get defense and rebounding out of them, that may be all we need. It's kind of comical that many were pushing for JN to redshirt and now that he's not coming it's the end of the world.

Redshirt or ten minutes a game for JN to we lost our only physical presence. It is comical lol

Where do you get any of that from this thread?

Watched the video and was encouraged by what I saw. Read other threads by "Chicken Littles" that were really down on these two. This seemed like an appropriate place to express some optimism.

Love when they do videos like this. Makes me think of when The Journey just followed our program back when it was formatted differently.

It was very smart of Pitino to push back the trip abroad to this summer. That will be great for our roster.

Most freshmen big guys look pretty terrible. It's really tough to have any idea of how good these guys will be. I'm just happy that with their size, speed, and athleticism that they have the tools to be good rim protectors and finishers.

Bakary will be All Big Ten Honorable Mention by his Junior year.
