The Death of Gopher Basketball

Yes, the rumors of this program's demise have been greatly exaggerated. There is now detectable motion at the molecular level.

Let's give it up for the students. They've represented BIG TIME at both football and basketball. The kids are alright!
Perhaps its the collective, lingering memories Williams Arena passion from 1971-1999 but the remnants of the fanbase from those years only need a little hustle & hope to roar their approval. And without direction & choreography. That makes it fun.

We tend to pick our favorite teams when we're eight or nine and let it ruin the rest of the lives, but sometimes you get moments like last night or Saturday. It's kinda good when you're sucking eggs all day but then on 17 or stick your approach shot three feet from the hole and it keeps you coming back.

Les with his usual insightfulness🥸

Has the real Bolstad family initiated a lawsuit against you for besmirching their name🧐🤠
To be fair to Les, he loves this program and you couldn't have pried so much as a dollar out of my wallet to bet the Over on that line based on what we had seen of this roster leading up to last night's game.

I'm sure Les woke up this morning very satisfied with a huge smile on his face and that probably had nothing to do with Mrs. Bolstad.

How can we help you through this trying time in your life?
I don't look to weak people for help.

I never even implied that it's difficult for me to not post about St. Thomas basketball on this message board. I was merely pointing out the fragility of some of the folks on this board when it comes to UST basketball program.

This thread and specifically your post kind of prove that point. You're squinting to insult me on something I never implied.

To be fair to moi, it’s all just -

I’ve always heard that Anoka 🤓 men are famed for having 🐊 arms - thanks for confirming.

Students were out for the last home game.. UST season ticket sales are up 400%… but they have a long way to go… it will interesting to see what happens going forward…
I attended a game last week, the arena is wonderful, much better to watch a game there hands down.

I should also say, the alumni band did their part.

You are correct, sir!

Over/under raised to 5.5

The big thing is they played hard all night, each and every player. That is the first step. You do this and win a few the Barn will be back.

This was Asuma’s best game overall. He needs to stay aggressive. He doesn’t turn the ball over. Once they got going I thought the defense was acceptable. The talent and depth is still not going to scare a lot of teams, but the effort just might.

They have some strong muscular guards, who rebound well and are not easy to push around. They appear well coached, and Medveds enrhusiasim seems to have rubbed off on them.

Nothing rocks like the Barn when either the men’s or women’s team is competitive. Hopefully we are headed in the right direction? But, who knows with NIL?

I was surprised, looking at the box score afterwards, to see the lack of counting stats for Grove. He was a fireball during his 8 minutes on the floor, playing hard and scrappy, hustling, and willing to get physical with bigger guys. I hope he develops.
