I tweeted something about Stevens being a lock. I have like 24 followers on Twitter. Within 5 minutes, someone who cares about Stevens at UCLA retweeted it with a "CRAP!" attached.
They've since removed their tweet, but that was pretty funny.

@SethDavisHoops: Source w direct knowledge says "absolutely not true" UCLA is in negotiations w Brad Stevens. "Highly unlikely" Stevens will be UCLA's coach.
@GaryParrishCBS: Who reported that Brad Stevens is "in negotiations" with UCLA? It's not us. And I can't find a story stating it anywhere.
We got him!
What does the Commander say?
And he got that new table. Welcome to MN brad!
Donny is way more credible.
This is absolutely NOT inside info, I'm just passing along an interesting nugget that I've heard in regards to the UCLA search. One of my co-workers is a UCLA alum, relatively big donor, makes quite a bit of money. He is a die hard UCLA guy, has great tickets, knows Dan Guerrero (their AD). According to him, he thinks UCLA is going to land Billy Donovan. He thinks they've been in the works behind the scene (he's still playing) and they are putting money together to make a HUGE offer to Donovan to try to lure him from Florida. I guess according to a lot of boosters, Stevens style of play worries them. He's not very LA and they just canned a guy who was more of a slow tempo. They don't think Stevens would be able to take advantage of the kind of athletes that UCLA wants to go after. They'd rather fashion themselves Kentucky WEST than a team built by Stevens.
I don't know if this is credible, I don't even know if this is just a hunch, and I haven't even seen Donovan in LA. It kind of makes sense though. It's how college sports are hired in these parts (big name OR pro experience).
S*** would get pretty real if Donovan left Florida, pretty sizable chain reaction.
This would be a pretty entertaining hypothetical if it came to fruition.

Sounds like homerism to me. Just like a lot of us felt we were gonna land Shaka, a lot of UCLA fans are probably eyeing Donovan. Donovan is already a top 5 paid coach at over $3.6 million/year. Even if UCLA does offer $4 million+, I'm sure Florida would match it or come close. Combine that with California state income tax vs. Florida's lack there of, and there is nearly zero chance that Donovan goes to UCLA for money.
I probably shouldn't have said that he said they are going to land Donovan, what I should have said is that he said that Donovan was their clear number 1 and they are going to offer him a huge contract and I'm sure they'll factor in the income tax. . . lol. It's not like the people at UCLA don't understand the differences in taxation by state.
