Was it ever?

Tyus was huge from five or six years ago and now was MOP on National championship team. Travis was a rotation guy on a NIT finalist (did they win? I don't knew) and Rashard Vaughan will be a pro next year, perhaps in Turkey, Italy or Greece.

In retrospect, it doesn't seem like all three were terribly equal.

Historic prose. Don't be "as @sshole."

Rashad averaged over 16 a game as a freshman. Nobody ever said Reid was equal to those two. Doesn't mean he isn't or won't be a good player.

Yes, it was. They were all McDonald's All Americans.

Rashad led his team in scoring as a freshman and Reid would have easily started for the Gophers as a freshman. They weren't totally equal but what other "big three" in sports has been? Let's not try to pretend that any one of them wouldn't have made a huge impact here.

It was actually "Big 4". Macura had a nice frosh season for Xavier; a team in the sweet 16. Tubby and Lil Ricky missed on all.

We should just call it the big 5 because of Brian Goodwin or someone else.

Seriously though, Doogie shares your viewpoint, but I cut it off at the three all Americans in my opinion.

Just for the fun of it (ok, not that fun), but how far would this team have advanced if they all chose the Gophers?:

--Tyus Jones
--Jahlil Okafor (friends were going to school together)
--Rashad Vaughn
--Reid Travis
--JP Macura

Plus, let's says Andre Hollins, Mo Walker, Elliot Eliason.

Big Ten title contender for sure, right? Potential Final Four team?

And assuming Vaughn and Reid don't get hurt? I don't see how that team isn't better than Duke.

Rashard Vaughan will be a pro next year, perhaps in Turkey, Italy or Greece.

As much as I would enjoy him not getting drafted in the first round he is slotted at #33 on the latest NBADraft.net, a good workout he could easily get picked late in the 1st.

Assuming Reid is four year guy, he was the guy I wanted the most and our biggest miss. He also had legitimate interest in being a gopher, unlike Tyus and Rashard.

Touche. Apologies. Pet peeve and was in a p!ssy mood last night.

It's alright, man. No need to apologize at all, it's all good. Thanks for reminding me why, irregardless, that it's a silly thing to say. :p Cheers

He never said that team was better than Duke.

He never implied that's what tjgopher said. His post pretty clearly meant that he thinks that team would have a really good shot at a championship.
