Mods feel free to delete this thread or move it somewhere else.....but until that time......

I have noticed a lack of overall posts on the basketball board and I think that is in large part due to the cesspool of negativity that board became over the past few seasons. I mean it was tough to even go on there a lot of the time because of all the fighting between posters and the constant bitching and moaning....

But for those that haven't wandered back....it is a lot more fun now so stop on by :)

Yes the women finishing 4th in the conference and securing a bye bye for the B10 tournament is exciting, coupled with them possibly being a Top 16 seed in the NCAA tourney, meaning The Barn would host the first/second rounds.

Plenty of room on the bandwagon - they even let me on🥸

Not the basketball board I was referring to but the women are having a great year. :)

The women’s board is pretty quiet.

I agree the men’s board is a lot more positive. Even with a mediocre record

They’ve been a very fun watch this year compared to even the better teams of the Johnson era. Glad that has reflected on the board

Well, the trolls will come eventually on game day much like what happens when Gopher football has a game and they get the true Gopher fans to join them. But...meanwhile, yes for the most part it has been pretty positive over there for the men. Doing very well for only 6 guys contributing due to injuries.

The Dan warriors aren't over there, screaming 'mediocre'?

I haven't thought abut MBB since that 2009-2010 Tubby "Final Four" team that never materialized:

Royce White, Trevor Mbakwe, Rodney Williams, Devoe Joseph, Blake Hoffarber, Al Nolen, Ralph Sampson III, Colton Iverson, etc etc) Sure, there were a few fun teams since then but that team falling apart before the season started destroyed my hope and faith in that program.

Happy to see us have some fun wins this year and it looks like we made a solid hire with Niko.

The trolls are never far away on any of these boards just waiting on their opportunities.....but the basketball board got well beyond just trolls, it was ridiculous how negative it got over there.

I'd argue the 2017-18 collapse was even more disappointing.

Can you refresh my memory? I just remember 2009-2010 being so disappointing because they were all elite MN guys that decided to stay home

Started out 13-3 (2-1 in B10 play)
Ended on a 2-14 streak (4-14 in B10 Play and a 9 game losing streak)

But I think Coffey got hurt that season and only played like 18 games.

Curry hurt his knee in pre season, Coffey got hurt pretty early on in big ten play, tried to come back and reaggravated the injury, at the same time Reggie Lynch got kick off the team for sexual assault. Dupree got merca in Brooklyn, missed time in the non con and then had a lower body injury that cost him a lot of the big ten season. Mason played the whole year with a hip injury that he suffered in the NCAA tournament the previous year. It was definitely a lot. Think we were rolling out Mason, Jelly, Fitzgerald, Hurt and Murphy as our starting five by the end. Diedrou still couldn't get any run lol

I've been genuinely thinking of going to my first game since I began puberty. I'd like to say puberty finished, but my facial hair continues to come in even in my 40s. WTF nature.
