He should go if he is drafted in the first round. If not and he returns, he will be looking for a big NIL deal. Anyone know what that would be?

Very well said. I agree with Garcia too, he could easily sign after the 2nd round is over and be a 3pt threat at the nba level. Teams know what they're getting with Garcia and it would be low risk.

To lose players to the nba is not an issue, ultimately it should bring higher rated recruits here as well.

I don’t think he has shown any signs that he has NBA three point specialist skills. Maybe he can get there but he isn’t now. Europe is his best pro option.

He needs to get used to being a marked man. If CBJ can get more players around him who are offensive threats, he will have much better numbers. His shots were hurried today from what I saw. Getting better on defense is essential.

Good points. Definitely defense needs improvement. One more year would hopefully do wonders for him. Maybe all this draft talk hit him by surprise and he overreacted in his in game decisions. Maybe.

Who needs defense in today's NBA?
 




Cam’s biggest weakness that was exposed down the stretch was his weak handle when trying to create his own shot or run pick and roll. Since that is 99% of NBA offense, I’m not seeing it. Nothing special as an on-ball defender, either. He can be a star with another year or two of college. I’m more worried about him being poached by a blue blood with deep pockets than I am about the NBA.

Why do you think college will prepare him better than the G-league?
 

He’s a prospect. Drafted? I’d guess probably not this year maybe next. Transferring afraid so.

He also seems a little passive? He can shoot, but right now someone has to set that shot up for him.

Agreed on readiness for the NBA. Cam is a smart young man and his family knows what they are doing. They may really love Ben, but I’m guessing their choice of Minnesota had a lot to do with immediate playing time. That issue hasn’t changed. He’s a 30 minute a game guy here next year.

There might be more cash 💰 from a blue blood, but not as much exposure and opportunity to get better. What they think is most important will be the deciding factor if he doesn’t declare for the draft. I don’t think it’s automatic he transfers.
 

Does anyone remember the rule from the mid 90s where you could wait for the draft and then return to school if you didn't like where you were drafted? Pretty sure voshon took advantage of that.

Yes. It was poison for teams with players returning who didn’t really want to. Didn’t last long and the reasonable compromise is what they do now. I’d like to see a more narrow window, but at least the player has to take some risk, unlike before.
