I apologize if this has been posted...but we can't thank our seniors enough. DJ and Westbrook went through 3 coaches in their years here - and have been through some of the worst losses (Clemson) and the greatest wins (Wi last year and this year). Bostick was only here 2 years, but certainly had his moments of greatness.
I particularly wanted to give a shout out to DJ - that boy had been through a lot. His family was hit by Hurricane Katrina, and when he got here, Coach Mo jokes that he better not walk over any sewers (because he was so skinny he'd fall in). He was friends with Brandon Smith and Kevin Payton - both, who didn't make it as far. He also was friends with some of the guys on the football team that got kicked off due to the rape charges. Through all that - and coming from a home that just hit disaster - I don't recall Damiam getting in trouble just once, for grades or behavior. He simply got better and better and grew into out best all around player. He never seemed to have any attitude problems, and was a leader out there.Losing him will be huge next year. Thanks you DJ, for playing hard and well and making us proud that you wore the maroon and gold!
