Thank you for asking. You haven't posted in a while. You doing ok?
God Bless You and your journey and your remarkably positive attitude.Thank you for asking.
It has been four years since I lost my wife to cancer and my subsequent hospitalization in a COVID ICU for both COVID-19 and MRSA pneumonia for six weeks. I was intubated and was in a coma and on a CRRT facing organ failures. I had to learn how to swallow and walk. I was on an oxygen concentrator at home for a year and a half.
I was diagnosed with oropharyngeal cancer early last year caused by my Coronavirus illness.
I had NED in my one-year follow-up!
The worst indignity is brain fog and executive functioning issues affecting my daily life. I struggle(d) with memory loss, severe depression, anxiety, and mourning for my wife and my old life. COVID-19 robbed me of my career.
I am dealing with "Long-COVID" - sequelae of illnesses and health conditions due to COVID-19: ME/CFS, constant neck and shoulder pain, mild pulmonary fibrosis, neuropathy, enlarged heart, leaky heart valves, twisted abdominal aorta, lymphedema, aggravated arthritis, Raynaud's syndrome,...
I feel like a car flooded in New Orleans after a hurricane that got retitled and sold in Minnesota. It is constantly in and out of the auto repair shop. Mechanics were unable to diagnose the problems.
There are millions of Long-COVID survivors with various degrees of illnesses. In 2022, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services ruled that Long-COVID is a disability under the Americans with Disability Act.
Every day that I wake up is a glorious day!
So sorry for what you have gone through. Hats off to you for being able to stay upbeat and positive throughout it all. No doubt there are many many people who are pleased to have you continue to be part of their life.Thank you for asking.

Thank you. Surviving a serious illness puts life in a proper perspective.God Bless You and your journey and your remarkably positive attitude.
Not at your level, but you’re not rowing by yourself.Thank you. Surviving a serious illness puts life in a proper perspective.

Can we pin this?We need more love than hatred in the world.
So sorry to hear what you've gone through. That sucks. A former neighbor of mine has long COVID and he is closer to 40 years old. Lost his job (couldn't do his job with the brain fog and fatigue) and they had to sell their house. Just crazy what it can do and be so different for different people.Thank you.
Strangely, I could "hear" the prayers of people when I was in a coma. The importance of faith, unconditional love, forgiveness, and kindness in my life was underscored.
Our life is a temporary journey.
We need more love than hatred in the world.
I know people don't like his name coming up, but @MplsGopher hasn't been around since the spring, right?Wonder how many posters have died? Did they get tired of Gopher Sports or did something happen to some of these people?
Wake up every day and fight like hell!Every day that I wake up is a glorious day!
Let's see a seven-game win streak! So sorry to hear what you've gone through. That sucks. A former neighbor of mine has long COVID and he is closer to 40 years old. Hopefully you're improving and we will keep praying for your continued health! And hopefully you have been able to enjoy the 4 game win streak.

Keep getting after it every single day.
Didn't he get banned?I know people don't like his name coming up, but @MplsGopher hasn't been around since the spring, right?
He was banned and for good reasons.D
Didn't he get banned?
I never cared for the guy but I hope that is the explanation, and nothing health-related.
