Texas fans want Brewster?

If you guys don't think Brewster will land a job when he is done at MN you are dead wrong. He knows people who respect him in the NFL, he knows people who respect him at the college level. Just look at the embrace Pat Fitzgerald gave him at the end of that Northwestern game.

He could be a position coach in the NFL when he is gone, but I personally think he likes the college game better. He will probably end up being a position coach/recruiting coordinator for a BCS school in 2011.

If I am a Texas fan I want Brewster back. They haven't won a National Title since he stopped being their recruiting coordinator (I am NOT giving him credit for the national title, just noting the fact). Their teams do seem to lack a fire. If Brewster is good at anything, it is bringing intensity.

Actually they won their last national championship several years after he left Texas.

Should have said, haven't won a national title since they ran out of players recruited during Brewsters tenure as the recruiting coordinator. My bad.

yeah, texas needs to improve it's recruiting?! every kid on their team is a 4 or 5 star recruit....they don't recruit 3 star kids at Texas. Talk about trying to sqeeze blood from a turnip. unreal. Maybe brew will bring in some 6 star kids and bring them light years from where they are now.

Wrong. We recruit some 3-star kids. We've got six currently committed, but most are tearing up the competition this fall so some may get upgraded. We had four of them last year, and six the two years prior. Some of our better players were 3-stars.

Blake Gideon was a 2-star, started as a true freshman, and has played ever since.

Stars don't mean as much as getting your pick. Whoever has been evaluated and gets offered the earliest is who you should expect to contribute more times than not.
