I honestly think Fickell wanted to hold out for Ohio state job but realized that now might be the time to move. Cincinnati won’t have as east of a time getting to 9 wins anymore.
4 of cincinatti’s last 5 coaches won 9 games in a season and the one who didn’t was mark dantonio. They’re going from a medium fish in a below averaged sized pond to a medium fish in an above average sized pond. Same can be said for the other 3 schools as well.
