TCU game time: 3 pm

I wish this was not the same day as the Replacements Midway concert, otherwise I would have made the road trip.

Love it, should be a fun day of tailgating and it sure beats an 11am or Noon kickoff. If we can play in the heat and humidity in Murfreesboro, TN, then this outta be a cinch! :D

Go Gophers!!

I am glad it is not an evening game since I have tix for The Replacements!

This will be a good test to see where the team is at. TCU had a bad year, but they lost a lot of close games. I believe TCU starts with a 1AA school, has a week off, plays the Gophers, and has a week off after that. They can afford to go all out against the Gophs.

The Replacements concert and this Gopher road game are two highlights for my entire year and they fall on the same day.

I think they're kidding. It will be 11am next week.

Booked my flight with a couple of other Gopher fans about a month ago. Cost was $216 on Sun Country from Friday morning until Sunday afternoon. I know Texas heat in September having previously lived in Houston but this guys weekend in DFW will be a blast and I'm thrilled it's not an early start. It allows us to go to the Texas Rangers game the night before and still have adequate time to travel to Fort Worth in the morning to check into the hotel and tailgate. We're staying downtown Fort Worth Saturday night and I couldn't be more excited for this road trip.

I wonder what the TV situation will be.

Go Gophers!!

I'm wondering if TCU had any choice in picking the time? Heat will most likely be factor and I'm guessing TCU thinks it'll be to their advantage. It is my understanding that the visitor side is to the east which would put us in the sun the entire game. I'm thinking our deep stable of running backs and playing multiple players will pay big dividends in this one.

Plus the humidity in Fort Worth is always above average.

Go Gophers!!

Fox Sports 1 does a pretty good job with their games. They were likely the deciding factor in the time selected as Fox 1 does the Big 12 (or whatever they are called now) games. Will be a lot better than missing the first quarter because the earlier game is going long on ESPN.

Any idea when the EISU start time will be announced? There are no other BIG games that night, so there should be no TV conflicts. Kind of hoping for a 7pm kickoff.

Average temp for Fort Worth on the TCU game day is 90 for the high. Still hoping to make it on this trip...

I'm in the same boat. The 3 pm start time doesn't help things.

Oh God I hate having to bitch about making one of two choices that affect the lives of millions. No matter which choice you make, you will please no one.

Did Studwell pee in your Cheerios? He likes to do that. Feel free to rant about those damn kids with their rock and roll music if it makes you sleep better.

It was around that temp and humid when we opened Minnesota Stadium in 2009 and beat Air Force and it was around that temp and humid last year when we played and beat UNLV at Minnesota Stadium.

P.S. Hope you get to make the trip too. Sounds like a fun one. Have been to Dallas/Fort Worth numerous times for work over the years. A fun metro area with plenty of things to do in your down time before and after game day.

Actually Rutgers plays Thursday night too, but they're at Washington State and that game will be on FoxSports1. For Eastern Illinois I think you can bet on a 6 or 7 start time on BTN.

Ah, o.k..

Yeah- I was going to say I feel like we've had a couple of games at the bank that were close to 90. I was just throwing out the temp info for anyone that was curious - it certainly wouldn't dissuade me from going to the game. I've been to many Twins games that were 90+.

Looked up the weather for the Air Force game - it was 82 that day. The game against Cal the following week was 83. The game against New Mexico State in 2011 the high was 89. Last year's game vs UNLV was 95. These were all high temps, not necessarily at game time.
