Taylor Landfair has entered the transfer portal.

This is a whole heck of a lot more fun when you realize these are 18-22 year olds - non professional athletes.
Why is it OK to criticize the poor play of a college football player or men's basketball player, but you're a horrible person if you criticize the poor play of a college volleyball player?

It tough to believe anything you read anymore. So, take this for what its worth...

This seems to be a good place to put rumors about ol TL.

So here are a couple doozies from VT posts:

1)
"
I have heard that Taylor can’t transfer to another school for the spring semester. She will be a fifth year in the fall and academically she cannot transfer until she receives a diploma from the University of Minnesota. So she is not eligible to transfer to another university until she graduates which she has not done and cannot graduate early due to being an art major. Sounds like Taylor will be staying in the spring…

Vball Nerdz uncensored had a comment saying TL was bad for the team. Apparently the entire team would’ve been in the portal if she didn’t leave. Also stated she had no respect for Cook and wasn’t shy about it. If this truly is the case, glad she’s leaving MN. Explains her post about only thanking Hugh too, def was a cheap shot knowing a little more now.
"

**IF** true:

good riddance.

Makes me never want to recruit a (so-called) #1 player in the nation, again.

The gall and the ego ...

Robinson is already coming back and it looks like Franklin will be too. Plus with their incoming class, it just wasn't in the stars.
Didn't stop Texas!

Seriously though ... why would you ever sign with a top program as a high school student, now? Will you ever see the court?

Texas, Neb, Wisc ... they can just steal players from any roster in the nation that they want and compile an all-star team every year going forward ..

We are in an unregulated system where excellent players like Wenaas, Booth, and Landfair can choose to go to a team that has a high probability of winning a conference and national championship. In some pro sports, on the other hand, high-quality free agents cannot always go to the best team(s) because they don't have enough salary cap space. The NCAA needs to reign in the transfer portal system or lose the over-all quality of sports and interest of fans.

Already made him look like the biggest hypocrite in the sport. In case it was in doubt. Who leaves? Batenhorst? Krause? Both?

It’s about fan loyalty to a program. Just like the pros. We are being scammed.

They also need to have limits on NIL money.

Good for Taylor

Taylor Landfair announced Monday she is transferring to Nebraska. She joins a team that lost one regular-season match last season and was the No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament before being surprisingly swept by Texas in the national championship.

IMO this is A typical of JCook. He always talks out of "both sides of his mouth".

He has had some of the highest ranked recruiting classes in Division1 year after year after year. It is not a concern for him. He is going to put out there the best players he can to run his system. These players get used liked pawns in his chess game with JE at Texas. It will not change until one or both retire.

It will be interesting to see who starts in Landfair, Batenhorst, Pierce or Krause? I am reading JC is transferring in another MB and another DS besides Olivia Mauch (L) and Skylar Pierce (OH) who are his 2024 recruiting class. They were part of the U19 and U21 USA teams.

Right now there are no guarantees that TL will start for them next season and certainly no guarantees that she will remain a starter, if she did. That is the reality of Nebraska volleyball. Just look at Sun and Orr while in his program.....just saying!

Whatever happened to Lexi? Is she playing pro? Beach?

US federal law won’t support it. New law would be struck down by current SCOTUS. A “free market” thing, yada yada.

It would be so delicious if she gets benched.

Or reduced to a serving specialist … but then you’d have to risk her godawful backrow play.

Just remember reading something about her having a clothing line. I have absolutely no idea where she is at with it and if it continues to exist or not....The Sunny Crew.

He’s been around the sport for almost 20 years as his daughter, Lexi, used to play volleyball for the University of Nebraska. After spending so much time around some of the best volleyball players in the country, he said he knows its athletes want to play a part in driving popularity forward.

“Volleyball has such a different culture than any other sport. I think players want to not only play the game but also represent it too,” he said. “We need to keep building a brand that athletes can wear on and off the court. We’re trying to build a lifestyle of products and apparel that they’ll be able to wear.”

Lexi Sun, the former All-American outside hitter for the Cornhuskers, is now a sales executive for REN Athletics. She said she’s helping to shape how the company appeals to players’ fashion tastes off the court.

On a personal level I hope she has a happy successful life. Regarding her and playing for Nebraska, I hope she and Nebraska fail miserably. The system is broke. "I can't help my current team so I'll transfer to a national championship team". B.S.
This I don't really understand. She said she wanted a "more competitive gym" yet she literally gave little to no effort all season while everyone else was hustling to do their job. You would think she would step up in the situations where they are down and do her best to carry the team and lead by example. She in fact did the opposite and seemed to do as little as possible and just go through the motions. Incredibly frustrating as a fan to watch what we watched all season and then have her say, oh I wanted a more competitive team. Then STEP UP and do more for your team ala Skinner rather than skip out for a natty team. I just don't get it.

Agree. We lost some sets...and matches, because of her.
