The announcers during the girls McDonald's All-American Game said Tayler will announce next Wednesday (4/8). They didn't list Minnesota as one of her finalists though.

Kelsey Bone, the #2 recruit, announced during the game she is going to South Carolina. The Gamecocks were mentioned to be out of consideration and it was down to Texas or Texas A&M for her.

Let's hope the Bone case is a foreshadow of what will happen with Tayler!

I heard that, too, but the list the announcer had in front of him was most likely incomplete. He read off the top three in the order in which they are displayed on the HoopGurlz site, leaving out Texas and Minnesota. I heard an unsubstantiated report somewhere that she had eliminated Marquette.

Hill

Tayler would be the 6th guard on the Texas team and the 8th guard on the Duke team and the 3rd guard on the Minnesota team.

a couple weeks ago there we're some rumors about minnesota being a suprise choice but i would still say the smart money is on texas.

She is ready to be the new Gopher....Point Guard needed immediately...She is the one.

I know she's a big recruit...but come on. This is a circus.

This is hardly a circus. The only place you see the girls name is online. This is the most important decision of her life. Let her take her time and be sure.

Lighten up!

I understand that. However, the whole "let's wait until X Showcase event to announce where I'm going. No, nevermind. Let's wait for the state tourney...I'll announce it then. No, nevermind...I mean I'll do it at the McD's AA game." She's the only recruit in the Top 25 that hasn't made up her mind.

If she's having a tough time deciding, that's one thing. However, having read about her father over the past few years and his M.O., it wouldn't surprise me at all to know that she's had her mind made up for some time and her pops just wants a little more attention. People though Bill Humphries was bad...

Boo hoo

I don't know where she gets off taking so much time with this, a significant decision in her young life - when it clearly flies in the face of the timetable that you - some random fan that will likely have little to no impact on her, her life, her future - would like to see her use.

Get some perspective.

You would think five years is enough time to come up with a decision. :D

Of course nothing in life changes over a five year period does it.

Hill

I forgot to mention she would be the eighth guard on next years Ohio State roster.

Are the Gophers still recruiting others?

I was just interested to know if the Gophers are still out on the recruiting trail or is Hill the last recruit they are looking at for this years class? Katie Loberg is the #20 ranked center in the country according to HoopGurlz(SP) while Leah Cotton and Amber Dvorak are unranked at this point. I am just wondering if they are still on track with any other players.

Pam Borton almost appears that she is running the Texas Longhorn Football program with all the verbal commits she has already signed up for the next 3 years. With Boler and Noga committed for 2010, Kayla Hirt in 2011 the Gophers are ahead of the game.

If she doesn't get Hill, they will look for a juco transfer, like they had in Kay Sylva. It better be a good one, because the Big Ten is going to have a lot of good freshman next year, even NW has landed 3 top recruits. South Florida just won the WNIT with 6 jucos and Shannon Bobbitt was crucial to the Lady Vols winning back-to-back titles. There's talent in the juco ranks, but I would rather get it with Hill.

Good post bigmwc.

I agree completely. They simply can't go into next season with only McCoy and an unrpoven freshman in Cotton and Buford as ballhandlers. Plus it's a lot tougher to find help in the women's Juco ranks than it is in the men's.

Hill

I watched the second half of the WBCA All American game just to watch what Hill was all about. She looked OK when she was in there. But the overall play of the game was really awful. Even for an all star game the play was pitiful. From ball handling to air balls everywhere, it was just chaos. It just reminded me why I stopped watching women's basketball after my daughter graduated from HS and her playing career ended. At its best, it is pretty bad. My opinion. Hammer away at my opinion all you want. :p
